Bruce Campbell says he's still done playing Ash in films and TV but that plans are for The Evil Dead to continue as a property without him. There's long been on hold talk about following up the reboot so maybe...

Additionally, apparently Chris Rock has become involved in another attempt to restart the torture porn franchise with what we'll refer to for now as Saw IX. The follow up/reimagining is already slotted in for release on 23 October 2020

Did you guys even have The Banana Splits in the UK? If you didn't, go look up the original intro for a hint of what it was. It was a children's variety show with big funny characters. Plenty of slapstick and silliness. Probably from the late 60s early 70s maybe but I saw it in the 70s.

Anyway... now they have made a film and it's not quite what you'd expect from a children's show:

The rights holder has clearly been playing Five Nights at Freddy's too much

After watching the entire run of Ash vs Evil Dead I can understand why Campbell is done with it. It started really well but became pretty average as it went on. It lost the hard edge it started with and lost some of the edgy humour too ... it ended up as pretty much Buffy with more blood. It did have Lee Majors in it though ... so that was cool.

But Evil Dead without Ash ... that's a bold move. I'm not sure there's enough there without him.
