"Doctor Who" Wraps S14 Filming - Dark Horizons
It's all in the can for the fourtieth series of the show. The plan is that following the 8 episode Series 14, each subsequent series will build up the number of episodes until the show is running at or closer to its original count of 13 and airing every 12 months. With this in mind it will likely be in around 6 months that filming begins on Series 15

Feels like there is way more stories about future Doctor Who than there ever is actual Doctor Who. I don’t even know if the show really exists any more or if it is just kept alive by stories of its filming.

Considering the BBC had two of its biggest three shows get torpedo'd they've handled Who phenomenally poorly. When the last of Tennants eps airs this year they will have aired 22 episodes over the course of 5 years. Shocking mismanagement and no wonder they've had RTD not just return but in effect remove it from their hands so it can be more independently managed.
