HBO Max Scraps "Little Ellen," Possibly More? - Dark Horizons
The Warner Bros quarterly is today and it's looking increasingly likely that rumours will be true and the first of what might become a more common event will happen - the death of a streaming service
It's being mooted that Warners new owners will effectively smother HBO Max to death by cutting its scripted content and rolling what's left into their other services. The service has been a hit but reportedly the new owners are very concerned that Netflix and Disney are having to pour billions into content to stay competitive making the services very high risk and subsidised by the companies other arms. A battle they feel Warners should step out of to focus on theatrical content.

Chatter has also sparked up as HBO Max has suddenly removed a half dozen of its films including the Zemeckis remake of The Witches
A report has emerged saying the service will soon be purging itself of a large volume of its content

The Hollywood giant says 'Top Gun: Maverick' "powered" a 126 percent film unit revenue gain in the second quarter, while ad revenue in the TV Media unit dropped and higher streaming investments hit the company's bottom line.
Paramount+ is one of the only streaming services to see growth, hitting 43m subscriber accounts after adding over 4m in the last three months

Restructuring Warner Bros has meant that the company took a loss in the last quarter
HBO Max managed to grow a little to 92.1m subscribers...
It's confirmed that moving forward that Warner Bros will be focusing on theatrical releases with The Batman and Elvis cited as examples of what they're aiming to produce
As such in Summer 2023 they will merge HBO Max with Discovery+
Warner Bros Kids content and Warner Bros Animation content will be seeing a range of cuts made to them
