It is very annoying how they are not displayed chronologically in the menus. Even the Toy Story films... 2 then 1 then 2?!! Gah!!!

Saved By The Bell revival in the works

"The kids of Saved By The Bell are all grown up in NBCUniversal’s revival of the 90s sitcom for its new Peacock streaming service.

Let’s hope that, in the Saved By The Bell reboot being developed for the new Peacock streaming service, Zack Morris is less of a manipulative troublemaker as governor of California than he was as a student at Bayside High. In a series of announcements about the slate of programming being proposed for NBCUniversal’s entry into the subscription television model, Saved By The Bell joins fellow reboots Battlestar Galactica and Punky Brewster along with a host of other new shows and back catalogue from NBC’s vault.

The new Saved By The Bell will feature the grown-up versions of Slater and Jessie as the network has announced that original cast members Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will reprise their roles, but although the announcement includes the aforementioned California governor Zack Snyder, there’s no word on Mark Paul Gosselaar’s involvement. The series will be executive produced by writer Tracey Wigfield along with Peter Engel and Franco Bario for Universal Television.

The logline for the updated Saved By The Bell is as follows: “When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.”

Looks like the reimagined sitcom will be taking on a bit of social commentary for its new run! The Peacock streaming service will launch in April of 2020 in the US with acquired content and second run content, and original series such as Saved By The Bell are slated to begin next autumn."

The Man Behind Mr. Robot Is Bringing Battlestar Galactica Back

"All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again. Because literally, that’s what they’re doing, they’re rebooting Battlestar Galactica again.

Deadline reports that NBC Universal has tapped Mr. Robot’s Sam Esmail to headline a reboot of the beloved sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica for its newly unveiled streaming service. Which is called Peacock.

              Yes, really.

Anyway, so far not much is known about the reboot, other than Esmail’s involvement and that it’s now happening. NBC Universal has a long history with the series—about the last remnants of humanity on the run from a sinister, overwhelmingly powerful race of robots called the Cylons—of course, having produced Glen A. Larson’s original in 1978, which ran for just one season on ABC, and then produced Ronald D. Moore’s beloved reboot, which aired on Syfy from 2004 to 2009.

But I guess, in this age of streaming wars, every company around looking to make their own platform is returning to past successes in the hopes of making it new again for streaming. In the sci-fi realm Disney has Star Wars, CBS of course has Star Trek, Apple now has Jason Momoa. And now, NBC has Battlestar again.

Peacock is set to launch in the U.S. in April 2020. We’ll bring you more on the Battlestar Galactica as we learn it.

UPDATE 9/17 12.10PM: It did not take us long to learn more! In the wake of this morning’s news, Esmail took to Twitter to clarify his show is not a remake of the 2004 series, or seemingly even the 1978 version. Instead, it is a “new story within the mythology”"

If I remember correctly didn't the more recent BSG work into its mythology that the original BSG also canonically took place meaning that any reboot could also be technically canonical to the other versions as well?

In a way a bit like Terminator Genysis which worked its story out in a way that you could weave every Terminator film into the canon regardless of what each new instalment claims

Netflix has renewed its critically acclaimed female wrestling comedy/drama “GLOW” for a fourth and final season of ten episodes. Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and Marc Maron will all return. Was doubtful this one would happen but Netflix have greenlit a fourth and final season for GLOW

David Ayer’s “Bright” was Netflix’s biggest budgeted film at the time of release (though has since been surpassed several times), and was heralded as an audience success for them even as the critics were very mixed on it. Still, with the number of eyeballs it drew and user reaction that was good enough for the […]

I enjoyed season 3 and its Vegas diversion. The show certainly knows how to stay fresh.

Yeah, we loved GLOW; can't wait to see the last season. Also, kinda happy it's the last one. Much as I like it, I would hate to have seen them stretch the premise out for diminishing returns.

That's exactly it, the third run was fun but barely has anything to do with GLOW itself at this point. The end point suggested some sort of rebranded last gasp attempt for them but it's definitely at the natural end point now.

Am I the only one who hated the third series? Melodrama at it's worst.

Anyone with a flixter account can now migrate their collection to Google Play. I've just done it and hopefully it'll mean we can finally watch them on the tv (not just a portable device).
