Whilst Disney have provided an update on Disney+ stating that the streaming service now has 73.7m subscribers. The service has helped the wider company weather the COVID period which as seen the company lose $580m thanks to shut down movie slates and theme park, a figure that is pretty small considering their usual yearly intake. Additionally ESPN+ has risen to 10.3m subs and Hulu has grown by a third to reach 36.6m users. Netflix currently has 195m subscribers though Disney+ has reached its 73.7m figure just 12 months on from its US only launch.

Director Chris Columbus has said that he doesn't see the point in Disneys plans to remake Home Alone for Disney+. A valid point but one muted in a world where Home Alone 3-5 have already been allowed to exist.

"Dune," "The Matrix 4," and more will all be available to stream on HBO Max during their first month of release as well as playing theaters.
In a bold stride forward Warners has confirmed that its entire 2021 cinema release slate will debut on HBO Max on release date alongside the theatrical runs and be available for 1 month each on the service. Barring individual delays that means straight to streaming availability for movies such as Dune, Suicide Squad 2 and The Matrix 4

Warner Bros has stressed that the plan to release these films over the course of 2021 is intended to end on 31 December 2021 with their theatrical films from 2022 onward intended to return to launching as cinema only releases.
