Here's an interesting one: Torrent pirating of film and TV is on the rise again due to the growing abundance of streaming services overcomplicating the market for consumers.
Doesn't surprise me at all; I know loads of Americans who watched Star Trek Discovery via such methods, because it was the only thing they wanted to watch on the service that was carrying it.

Netflix has announced they have just signed a multi-year deal with The C.S. Lewis Company to develop stories from “The Chronicles of Narnia” universe into series and films for its members worldwide. All series and films produced through the deal will be Netflix productions in collaboration with eOne. Mark Gordon, Douglas Gresham and Vincent Sieber […]

Netflix has signed a multi-year deal to create multiple series and movies for the service adapting the Chronicles of Narnia series. Presumably this kills the planned belated sequel that was in the works. Netflix owns the adaptation rights now to all seven books.
This could be great. The BBC show truly was event television in the 90s. Terrifying!

In a fairly major announcement coming just months after the wonderfully acronymed TWATT acquisition deal, AT&T has revealed that it plans to unveil a direct-to-consumer streaming video service featuring WarnerMedia’s films and TV series by the end of next year. The aim is to bring a direct competitor to VOD giants like Netflix, Disney and […]

Warners has announced they will be launching another streaming service next year, this one being a central WB service that is their equivalent to Netflix etc. As a result it's expected that all Warners, DC, HBO etc content will be removed from other services to build up the new service.

You can already hear the steam coming out of cameras at Netflix as they race to generate their own content to combat all these removals as it is...

Netflix has renewed “The Simpsons” and “Futurama” creator Matt Groening’s medieval animated comedy series “Disenchantment” for a second season. The streaming giant has ordered a further twenty episodes of the series which will be released in two half-season installments of ten episodes each. The first season’s first ten episodes premiere in August with the second […]

Netflix has greenlit a 20 episode Season 2 of Disenchantment - even if the release format makes more sense seeing it as 10 episode seasons per year

Netflix has announced that it plans to raise $2 billion in financing through debt securities today, marking the sixth time in less than four years that the company is raising $1 billion or more through bonds. As of three weeks ago, Netflix has accrued a reported $8.34 billion in long-term debt, up 71% from a […]

The renewal comes as Netflix also announces it will be plunging a further $2bn into debt in the next twelve months in an effort to generate enough content to offset the offerings other companies will be revoking from the service. The companies growing long term debt stands at $11.83bn currently

The launch of “The Haunting of Hill House” on Netflix has proven a hit both with critics and audiences. It’s also a limited event series by design as opposed to an ongoing one, so creatively there’s no need for a second season. That said if Netflix should order one, the show’s creator Mike Flanagan confirms […]

The creator and director of The Haunting of Hill House has said that they remain open to a Season 2 if Netflix opts for it but that any second run wouldn't be a continuation of the first. He says there are options in and out of Hill House, that's technically true, there's one option to stay at Hill House but it would add very little so I'd be more than happy to see it return in anthology form and continue decimating American Horror Story with each season being 'The Haunting of XXXXXX'

Ahead of the release of “Widows” in cinemas, the film’s director Steve McQueen (“Shame,” “Hunger”) has said that the age of ‘Peak TV’ is now over. In this context ‘Peak TV’, or the ‘Golden Age of Television’ as it’s more accurately called, refers to the shift of TV away from lower budget procedurals and toward […]

Personally, wouldn't really agree with him as director Steve McQueen heralds the downfall of TV making quality
