It probably is just a fake but it could be something similar.
Since it has a (debug?) screen on the front, maybe it's a later version of the devkit.

This is interesting. It's an apology video by Linus. It's not the apology that is interesting here though, it's the middle section of the video were he talks about the PS5 SSD tech and effectively sings its praises. I don't know much about him, but I've seen enough to know that he knows what he's talking about. He compares it to some of the pc builds he's done. Worth a watch...

I've just been thinking...with the PS5 SSD games can be developed from the ground up. No need for duplicate assets and LOD steps on exclusives.
We know the SeriesX has a SSD too, but they publish all their exclusives on PC too. And because they can't cater for PCs having SSD does that mean Xbox exclusive will still have to have duplicate assets and LODs?

He's pretty knowledgeable from what I've seen of his videos but when you break it down Cerny designed it and Sweeney has been using it a tonne to ensure UE5 works great for the platform.
Linus, though I haven't watched the video above... He's just a consumer like us at this point so he's theorising on information coming from other sources and his own experience.
Until we see what PS5 is really cooking hands on we simply don't know everything... So it's a bit silly to pass comment. But then, that's what these YouTube guys get paid for...

It’s a trap the pc master race fall unto. They look just at numbers. But PCs have many bottlenecks so will you ever see that max ssd speed on your pc? Probably not because something else will get in its way. Consoles have the chance to deal with the entire pipeline in a single iteration. I’m not saying they always do, but they can at least.

Game devs could specify ssd required for pc, but that might not be enough. I gather the xboxsx ssd isn’t as good as the ps5 system but maybe it’s still good enough to do the no LOD stuff etc. and better than a PC can do? I dunno. But maybe we’ve got to a point where certain system leve game design concepts will work on consoles but not PCs. Other elements such as ray tracing perhaps need a particular minimum gpu spec on pc that consoles can’t match? Could cause a bit of fragmentation.
Microsoft’s stance of play your Xbox games anywhere I.e you can play them on a pc, might limit what the Xbox games can do? I dunno, all conjecture on my part.
