A thick, gloopy dose of Final Fight on the Xbone, filter set to arcade monitor and aspect ratio widescreen. Sad thing is I can't seem to access Magic Sword, this is the old 'Final Fight Double Impact' comp off the 360 but supposed to be BC on teh Bone but why can't I find Magic Sword?...

(I reckon I'm just being thick).

Finished Fallout 4 yesterday, going on a completely different tange. I kinda wanna rant about how inconsequential (yet entirely adequate) it all was. It's just one big, long, fizzle, and a shadow of what Fallout 3 was, at least in its 2008 heyday. And why is Boston so ****ing *blue*??!!!

Don't get me wrong, it's really great and quite fun and there are many blasts to be had with it but it's like a really kinda meh experience with about seven types of enemies throughout (I don't really count Radroaches n stuff like that). It seems great in the short term but becomes very anaemic very quickly, there are no real memorable setpieces. I can tell why they said it was rushed, now.

There is a little bit of dialogue in the game where one of your bodyguards says he grew up in Little Lamplight, a character named MacCready who is in the same charisma-sphere as Desmond in Assassin's Creed. And I'm thinking this game really has no locations like Little Lamplight, no surprises.

And that is what it's all like.

Hubris Comics was decent but it's all an underdeveloped wasteland, in the end.

Ah shame. I really enjoyed it and it's the game I've played for longest according to that PlayStation memories video.
I do like to mooch around doing anything but the missions though.

Speaking of which, I'm so far behind on RDR2 because I'm happy just exploring the town.
My mates have got stuck into the plot and are in chapters 4 and 5, but I still can't fish and only learned poker last night.

      That was a mistake.

Determined to win a whole poker game in the Valentine Saloon, I ended up playing until about 1:30am and I'm knackered now!

The cards hate me, but I've almost got the last guy beat.

Does Fallout 4 have any kind of definitive end?

          Fallout. Fallout never ends.

Fallout 3 had an ending, didn't it? Pretty sure it did. You could continue and it had DLC but I seem to remember there being an end sequence.

There are four possible endings that are pretty varied in their outcomes (other than shooting people to get there).

I didn't see the plot twist coming and I shot a key character in my first go through because I was so enraged that they'd captured me and stopped me from my main quest.

              Reload.

EDIT: they're all pretty good fun, actually.

Is this Fallout 3 or 4?

Been pissing about on Minecraft recently. Found a HUB world where you can play games by building things to a certain theme. Quite fun. I try to do survival mode, but I find it hard to play due to the lack of direction. That's why I prefer DQ Builders more.

                    Sorry, Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 has four different endings, depending on who you side with.

Ooh, I platinumed this game, I just remembered.
That's how much fun I had doing everything available, but I appear to be in a minority here.

That sounds pretty good. The one thing I really missed in Skyrim was a decent ending. It felt unfinished. Whereas Fallout 3 really satisfied.

Been toying with buying this for a while.
It was in the PS sale, but missed it.
I wish it was cross-buy for Vita and PS4.

                        That would've swung it.

                        Same for Dariusburt Chronicles.

Don't get me wrong about Fallout 4, it's a ridiculously great game and I pumped days into it. It's just by the end I'd picked one too many locks, it was all feeling too easy and samey (especially having caned FO3 GOTY in the past). I actually wanted it to end, in fact I joined The Institute as a means to fast-track completion of it! I'll probably go back to it in six months to roam about a bit more, maybe try and get the cheev for finding all locations. Saddest thing was the lack of Deathclaws, I only encountered like 4 and some felt like 7ft tall, tiddlers.

Anyway, enough Fallout 4, it's January and it's time to sample some COD, got both Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare on the Xbone to play, currently playing AW and the remnants of FO4's control scheme are annoying, having to relearn A as jump, jeez, keep swapping weapons!

                            Mass Effect - Femshep Soldier.

I've started and stopped playing this game so many times. Maybe this time I'll see it through!

Finally - finally - finished LA Noire this morning so going to refresh my mind by starting New Super Mario Bros Deluxe
Off the NS though, struggling to get stuck into something or decide if I'm in the right mood for Resi 2

Played more Forza Horizon 4 last night. Racing through a dirt stage in an Escort Cosworth feels so good. The in-car view/sound is perfect (once you turn that radio down) ... landing a jump in a huge muddy puddle delivers a proper 'whump' sound ... feels so good. It's also excellent with a controller ... I really don't miss a wheel with this ... rumble triggers were such a great idea and used to great effect here. This game feels purely about the joy of cars and driving and it has a momentum that delivers thrills almost constantly. Really, really good.
