Now, I think I'm two missions away from completion, but it'd be rude to leave Horseman and Survivalist challenges at 9 out of ten, so naturally, I did that.

Caught all 15 types of fish and broke-in all-but-one of the horses. Just one left to find.

Then I'm winding it up, I promise.

I've always been like this.

Part of me wishes I could rinse a game in a week and move on, but I just tend to get into a game and then rinse it.
Before this, it was Monster Hunter: World the Fallout 4 and so on. I just spend half a year playing one game - no wonder I have a backlog!

Deffo going for short games next...

Weekend approaches and the current line up is:

Luigi's Mansion 2

I'm now onto the final mansion, it's been an utter joy. More than anything it will be nice with the third game to be back to having two sticks to control but other than that this is brilliant.

Mortal Kombat 11
Halfway through story mode and it's been held up because I focus on LM2 but I'll push on soon in an attempt to wrap it up. A solid game but more like a remaster of the previous one than anything else.

Draugen
Essentially a walking simulator, searching for your sister on an island. Nice looking game with character models that evoke Bioshock a little, slow paced but apparently quite short. Takes place over 6 days (chapters) so aiming for one a day.

Destiny 2
Goes on hold for a couple of days at a time so I can make progress in the above but hopefully sometime this weekend I'll dent a little more of Osiris and the unfinished Io content to push into the Lvl 30 PL 300 mark.

No mans sky is consuming my life, 73 hours in and captivating as ever finally completed one of the main 3 quest lines but I still haven’t even begun to build a proper base or doing anything with my freighter. Maxed out my inventory slots and finally installed s rank environmental protection modules so I can survive on extreme worlds without making the dash to my ship every few mins. Saving up now for the moment I come across either a s rank freighter, multitool, or ship so far upto 57 million units but I don’t think that will be enough so I have been finding the salvage pods and doing the ruins treasure hunting. Found an artifact worth a cool 3 mil.

Enough messing about, importaku, it's time for the PSVR update, please!

Did you see this:
No Man’s Sky has walked a long road since its release back in 2016. What was once a mediocre survival title has been boosted into one of the greats, with a VR mode coming later this year. "No Man’s Sky has walked a long road since its release back in 2016. What was once a mediocre survival title has been boosted into one of the greats, with a VR mode coming later this year. No, fans have crowdfunded a No Man’s Sky billboard specifically designed to thank developer Hello Games for not giving up on the popular game.

Created by Cam G on Gofundme, the campaign has set up in order to thank Hello Games for the “heroic effort” it’s taken to get No Man’s Sky to the quality it is now."

I love it when a game clicks for people and creates a lovely sense of community. Sea of Thieves has a similar support from the fans that get it.

I'm still playing the Outer Wilds. It's gonna be considered a classic.

An amazing freeform little solar system with just incredible originality and inginuity in it's design

Spider-man on PS4

I’m enjoying this quite a bit but it feels like I’m playing infamous second son again except I think infamous is a better game. RFOM is my favourite insomniac game still. Anyway I’ll press on to get all the suits and stuff.

Couple of XBOX 360 classics being very much enjoyed ...

Beatles Rock Band - As a Beatles experience this is wonderful. The presentation was nailed so well. It puts you right there. Not in a real way but in a lovely Beatles way. It feels right. After picking up a cheap Gretsch guitar controller I downloaded Rubber Soul, Pepper and Abbey Rd. Lovely stuff.

Fight Night Champion - I used to love Fight Night Round 3 with its bone-crunching replays showing a rippling face getting pummelled and sounding like a bag Twiglets getting smashed. This one has a decent championship/story mode and also a great roster of real champs/chumps. It still plays great too. Great enough to draw the kids away from Fortnight a number of times.

I’ve got caught up playing Black Desert Online. I don’t really understand most of what’s going on, and it doesn’t seem to be a multiplayer game either. It feels like a rubbish version of The Witcher 3 (which I didn’t like), but I can’t seem to put it down.

I tried out Metro Exodus, but I got to a place where I keep getting killed, and I don’t know why, so that’ll likely be shelved now.

Hyper Fighting it is then I suppose.
Kept you waiting, huh?

I have this (unplayed), but I fancy seeing that new Yesterday film, then blasting through this!

Up to chapter 14 with Valkyria Chronicles. The story's gone to places I didn't think it would, honestly. The difficulty's been a lot more managable, or perhaps I've just got back into the swing of things.

-edit-
At the final battle. There are fights in this game that you simply will not win on your first try. I guess the best way to look at it is that your solving a puzzle, working out the best strategy to beat each mission but it's not particulary satisfying; quite the opposite really, especially with unskipable cutscenes.

Red Dead Redemption 2... is done!

Thanks to huxley for selling this to me at a bargain price way back in October!

I'll write more in the main RDR2 thread, but I think you can guess that I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

I feel a sense of release, though and am wondering what to do next. Might read a book or watch a few films before starting a new game, but when I do, I reeeeeally need to play something a bit shorter.

Any suggestions?

On my Switch. A mixture of lifestyle demands and great games arriving (Katana Zero, Virtua Racing, Cadence of Hyrule, My Friend Pedro) mean this little beauty's come into its own of late. Some great stuff on the horizon too.

Been having a blast on EDF 2017, this month's 360 GWG freebie. I've got them all on 360 now, nice one GWG, a Brucie Bonus for my gaming OCD right there.

Deffo much more fun and colourful than Insect Armageddon, which is very brown. Brilliant to have this and love how it feels like a supercharged PS2 game, it feels very much authentically of that era and thusly communicates the same atmos, a fun, colourful, crazy Japanese atmos.

Unlike Insect Armageddon. But that's not too bad, tbh, I won't slam it too hard. Just so soooooo broooooown.

Orange Box. HL2Ep2. Very near the end and some horrible gameplay goin on. These 'Episodes' are cack, tbh.

Anyone remember a very repetitious, loooong bit in HL2Ep1 where you've got to escort about seven groups of survivors back and forth across a map full of Striders and troops and snipers shooting all the time? It was HORRIBLE. I nearly gave up.

Ep2 is giving me very similar vibes with a bit of a tower defence-y stage where I've got to protect my base from Striders using sticky bombs. But you gotta shoot the sticky bombs, usually from miles away due to the gunfire. And it's hard getting close because there are three of his elite guard peppering you with spray all the while, popping your sticky bombs. All the while, new Striders start spawning in if you take too long.

It's tedious, it's horrible, rubbish game design, I swear I've sticky-bombed at least EIGHT Striders and still this tedium goes on. Eight Striders with sticky bombs and bullet-sponge guards should be enough!!!

Cant wait to play Portal, tbh....
