Five teenage mutants -- Mirage, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik -- undergo treatments at a secret institution that will cure them of their dangerous powers. Invited by Dr. Cecilia Reyes to share their stories, their memories soon turn into terrifying realities as they start to question why they're being held and who's trying to destroy them.

The New Mutants turns out to be... bad? Whaa----?!

Probably why it's been on a shelf for years. Best time to put it out. During a lockdown and competing against Tenet. Bury it.

Vaughn Talks His Original "X-Men" Exit - Dark Horizons
Vaughn famously quit X-Men 3 when it was being rushed through to filming and he has now revealed why. He says that he attended a meeting with a Fox exec where he was presented with an overly large script for the film. When he opened the first page it featured a cold opening focused on Storm saving children, the Exec told him to to worry about the size of the script as the plan was to bin the entire thing as soon as Halle Berry was contracted onto the film. Vaughn quit on the spot.
