Ahead of the Disney/Fox merger becoming locked in place, Josh Boone’s “The New Mutants” was supposed to undergo extensive reshoots to add new characters and drastically alter its tone. Those reshoots haven’t happened yet and now indications keep mounting that rather than proceed with then, Fox’s new owners Disney will instead just release the film […]

Two days until the Fox/Disney merger is complete and talks are ramping up that The New Mutants will abandon plans for more reshoots and will be dumped onto the Hulu service.

The Disney-Fox merger is expected to be completed mid-week with en masse layoffs to begin shortly after. Nearly 7,500 people are expected to be let go as a result. That threat has long been looming over key marketing personnel at Fox, so much so many have already reportedly jumped ship. As part of a feature […]

Rumours that the Disney/Fox merger tomorrow has impacted Fox so much, coupling in expected layoffs totalling 7,500 employees and roughly an expected wind down of Fox output by up to 75%, that long standing marketing staffers have already been jumping ship meaning the marketing of Dark Phoenix is being handled by temps. As such it's looking like the film will receive a poor push.

Frustrated over the long delays and seemingly uncertain theatrical future of Fox’s “The New Mutants” film? You’re not the only one, one of its key stars is also decidedly annoyed and is speaking up about it. “Game of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams spoke with Rolling Stone about finishing up on the HBO series and spoke […]

Maisie Williams is wound up by New Mutants getting booted around, let it go Maisie, at least yours will be so low key you might survive the fallout

The current incarnation of the “X-Men” franchise, which began in 2000 with the original film and got a makeover with ‘First Class’ in 2011, comes to a close with this Summer’s “Dark Phoenix”. After that, the now completed Fox-Disney merger will see Marvel Studios effectively rebooting the property and working the characters into the current […]

Kinberg, the man responsible for Last Stand and Dark Phoenix as well as being the last voice still speaking for the XCU, says that Dark Phoenix was always some kind of ending for the XCU... sure...

I can believe that. He probably saw that the series was dying a slow death and that Apocalypse left it bleeding out and he just decided to put it out of its misery with one final blow.

Appearing as part of Disney’s CinemaCon presentation, 21st Century Fox exec Emma Watts talked a bit about the future of the former studio’s franchises now that they’ve been absorbed into the Mouse House. Disney showed off a sizzle reel of big franchises they now own which included footage of “Alien: Covenant” and “Predator” while Watts […]

At the Disney CinemaCon Conference, Fox directly referenced Dark Phoenix as the end of the X-Men line thereby effectively confirming that in a few months time the X-Men Cinematic Universe will come to an end though they were also suggesting New Mutants cinema release will go ahead though presumably without receiving the previously planned reshoots.

Though faint, Fox also suggested other owned franchises like Alien will see future releases.

Fox has cancelled The Gifted after two seasons. There's mention of it possibly making its way to Disney+

SPOILER ALERT > There's absolutely no chance that happens

Walt Disney Pictures has just announced a massive overhaul of its release date schedule, one that now incorporates 20th Century Fox’s titles into it. In the process, it has jettisoned a few projects and delayed others – some by months, some by years – whilst also adding a few new ones of their own. It’s […]

The New Mutants is still coming to cinema! But it's also had another heavy delay and will now release on 03 April 2020

Dark Phoenix is currently 18% on Rotten Tomatoes. End on a low point.

The X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe when one of their own, Jean Grey, starts to spiral out of control. During a rescue mission in outer space, Jean is nearly killed when she's hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. The X-Men must now band together to save her soul and battle aliens that want to use Grey's new abilities to rule the galaxy.

Apparently Disney is planning to push ahead with the reshoots on New Mutants still ahead of a cinema release so its lowest hour may still be ahead.

It would've taken a miracle for it to be actually good.

At least the series gave us X2 and Logan. Maaaaybe The Wolverine on a Sunday while you're doing the ironing.

Disappointing. Even the trailer fails to thrill, however.

Dark Phoenix was competent, few ok performances but the whole thing was flat and uninspired..

Simon Kinberg directed this and wrote Last Stand. He literally failed at making the same film twice.
