    Jim Sterling incoming in 3,2,1...

Probably about as predictable as Ubisoft putting microtransactions into the game, Jim Sterling has released a YouTube video slated them (taken from ResetEra).

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is one damn greedy game. In addition to its half dozen special editions, its Amazon Alexa tie-in, its Totino's promotion, and its season pass, it's filled to the brim with microtransactions. As well as all that, it's been purposefully turned into a grindfest in order to sell XP boosters, like this is some free-to-play mobile game.
To be fair, he isn't the first - hot on the heels of Polygon and WAB. Even SkillUp noted the long length of the game just to 'beeline' the campaign (his words) and is suspicious about the microtransactions.

Of course I do think a lot of posters are completely missing the point by saying 'you just have to play side quests' or because they haven't noticed it must be 'made up'.

But either way that's a number of sources now stating the grind is noticeable. So it sounds like the design has been impacted more since Origins.
