Originally posted by Asura View PostMass Effect is one of those games I always tell people to play on easy. The combat's fine, but not particularly amazing. It's best just to breeze through. I think I did it on medium, but I used the Soldier class which was the easiest class to use.
Hell I wouldn't even mind some changes to the loot or RPG systems. Certainly a chance to revisit it on current or next-gen systems is really welcome. It also good because the games have a boat load of DLC which can be pricey.

Really insightful interview with Phil Spencer on how gaming beyond just 2020 will be impacted (and likely applies to other media too). Not just MS related, as many devs and pubs will be feeling this.
Phil Spencer: The industry will start to see the impacts of coronavirus in early 2021, as some crucial aspects of video game production have stopped
But by March 2021, the industry could start to see the broader effects of the coronavirus. Games planned to launch next year and beyond are most likely to face issues with development that could lead to delays or cancellations.
"Through the summer, early fall? I feel pretty good about those games," Microsoft's Xbox leader Phil Spencer told Business Insider. "Games that were targeting a year from now or beyond? There'll be some impact, but they'll be able to react.""Mocap is just something that's basically stopped. We're not going into mocap studios," Spencer told Business Insider. "If you had all your animation captured and you're doing touch up in more individual art production and in areas like textures and other things, you're in a better position. If you're waiting for a lot of either large audio work — when it's with symphonies and other things — or mocap, you're held up right now and you're making progress in areas that you are."

It's highly dependent on both what you're doing but also how long the lockdown conditions last. We're at about 6-7 weeks in now for businesses that could easily shift to WFH standing, which the games industry (as a footloose IT industry) largely can. However, in whatever projects they're working on, devs will focus primarily on the stuff they can easily do; tasks which can be done in isolation, require less collaboration, and don't require specialist equipment.
Unfortunately that can't go on forever as you can only push those more awkward WFH things so far back.
So for some studios, this won't really have cost them all that much so far. The effects will kick in and affect productivity more and more, though, as time goes on.
