There's one dead horse Star Trek horses love to beat and it's back again as Kurtzman confirms that the team at Paramount have yet again set work on trying to crack making a Star Trek: Starfleet Academy series. Whatever form the show takes it'll be aimed at younger viewers. Kurtzman says he wants to take Star Trek into stranger and weirder territory than it has been in so far but first it needs to build a base for that so it doesn't alienated viewers.

It appears that Star Trek Prodigy will be released in 2021 in North America and 2022 in Europe (or parts of Europe?) because Paramount+ launches in parts of Europe in 2022
The news does not say if Prodigy will be getting released in the Nordic Countries at the same time as in North America, as Nordic countries apparently already has Paramount+.

Meanwhile Kutzman has said that due to Paramount now having five shows actively airing there is no longer a push to deliver new additions to that number. Whilst development continues on new shows they will debut when they are ready to and if another is to launch it's currently most like the Starfleet Academy based show that would be next.
