    I get the full slate:

    -The Hills
    -Keeping Up with the Kardashians
-The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills, Orange County, New York and New Jersey
    -The Only Way is Essex
    -Made in Chelsea

I turn my back for a moment and it's on. It's not just that they're on, they irritate as to how blatantly fabricated the shows are.

Yeah Nolan has a style and sometimes it works but often it puzzles me why the films get the praise they do. Interstellar was a key one, hinging on love yet was utterly void of emotion. They're pretty but soulless films.

Oof, I see Prinny's point now ... averting my gaze ...

Always thought the title wouldn't be out of place in Garth Marenghi's canon I watched the first few eps and thought it was pretty good ... lost touch with it though.

I know far too much about them all at this point have seen enough to have noticed even the Kardashians can't be bothered making an effort for their own show anymore

Sopranos. Was sold to me as a comedy... 1 episode.

Orange is the new black. Half an episode.

Walking dead. 3 episodes... This is going to be the same every episode right?

Van helsing... 6 episodes because I wanted to know what happens a bit but then gave up caring.

From dusk till dawn. 5 episodes then realised... Just watch the film.

We got bought the full series of Sopranos on DVD. I think we watched maybe four episodes. The Wire - made it to close to the end of the first season before declaring ourselves out.

I haven't seen the last series but she had a fleeting appearance as a swamp witch in S6. I liked bits of that one as some of it was in the vein of RE7 but it ventured into torture porn a bit too often for me.

Peters is just wonderful. He's often terrible but always fun to watch. I'm often reminded of how much the cast and crew of Star Trek: TNG say that working on their show was very much like mucking around with friends and family after a while and I get the impression that they have a similar blast when they're making AHS. There's a weird joy to it.

The worst thing is when I get home from work and there's one on the TV and a totally different one being streamed to her phone.

How can one person watch two piles of **** concurrently?!

I love various things mentioned on here like GOT. I’m not bothered about people not liking them. People can like what they want. I’m long past the days of getting offended by people hating stuff I like.

Sadly, threads degenerate into a hatchet job on the things that others like, that don’t really achieve anything. It’s a symptom of the negativity that permeates this forum recently. In the last month we’ve had people slagging off game collectors, people who collect certain things, and threads about bitches sucking balls if they don’t exercise an approved level of individuality and anarchy. I guess it just gets dreary to read sometimes. It’s rarely even constructive analysis, just out and out ‘well X is ****e’. Even the best actor/actress film threads are full of whinging.

Where’s the love of things? The enthusiasm? To have a thread dedicated to slagging stuff off is the logical endgame of this. It seems like we don’t talk much about things we like anymore. Perhaps it’s just the threads I read.

Nothing wrong with collecting, but the older I get, the more it just feels like clutter to me. If people enjoy it, then I'm happy for them. I think most collectors get flack these days because of current retro prices. I'm guessing these days they're seen as privileged bastards who contribute to the price hikes (I don't believe this personally). I remember a certain member ripping into me for selling some mint and complete US SNES games for (what they considered) "high prices". 48 months later those games I sold are now worth twice as much I was even called spence at one point (cheeky buggers)

When I slag things off on here, I'm usually half joking. For example, slagging off zen monkey is worth a perm ban in my eyes doesn't mean I don't like him (he has some very amusing posts)!

As for the ball sucking bitch snowflake threads, I don't think we'll be seeing much more of those (not until the next forum meltdown at least). It can get a bit "Megadrive vs SNES" on here sometimes, but I find that funny.

Generally this place is GREAT! Especially the smile thread and the long standing members who don't really take things seriously.

If this is the mind numbing turd that people pay their License fee for, I’m glad I’m single. And a nerd that watches anime and Star Trek.

I don’t like Dr Who, I just can’t take it seriously. I don’t like Breaking Bad either, I got put off by the muppet lad after a couple of episodes; you just don’t work with mateys who’ll get you nicked...

Arrow and Gotham are cool but I couldn’t get into Jessica Jones ( ), and Ironfist was a bit crap as it went on.

People will always criticise. To expect otherwise is naive. Please don't take that the wrong way. I'm not having a go. Indeed I think naivity is a nice trait. Certainly beats scepticism. I sometimes wonder why folk can't be more positive too... then I realise I can be pretty critical when the mood takes me. I mean, you're criticising this thread. Haha. Do you know what I mean? Again, not having a go, just pointing out what is.

And on a deeper level, of course, (and I'm gonna get all philosophical now so you may wanna stop reading ) what we like is rooted in what we dislike. My favourite things in life have value only because of their relation to what are not my favourite things. I like skinny brunettes for example, but if every woman was a skinny brunette, I wouldn't feel the same way about skinny brunettes. I love the Rolling Stones, but if every band sounded like the Rolling Stones I wouldn't love the Rolling Stones. Love/hate, good/bad, plain/pleasure, they can only exist in opposing pairs. That's how they come. If everyone was positive all the time it would have no meaning and wouldn't even be recognised as positivity.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. Criticism can be amusing and accurate. I wouldn’t say I’m naive. I contribute to the irks threads as much as anyone over time, and I’ve done my fair share of cussing. I was also acutely aware of the hypocrisy of me whinging about whinging.

I was more commenting on the lack of lack of enthusiasm for things around here recently. Very rarely do I read posts from people really enthused about something, where you can feel the positivity and joy someone gets from something. As I said, it might just be the threads I read.
