I don't know, it can be a pretty laddy environment at times, I bet I come out the rotter, wuss, whatever. We shall see, stuff like this tests my social anxiety like mad, I'll be stressing like mad over it for ages. But I had to help a mate out. Such is life, innit.

I'm irked that I'm not getting home this weekend and have to work Saturday and Sunday. Already bored out of my mind in the hotel.
      Are you, perhaps, in London?

No, I’m in Doncaster and have been working out in the cold and rain since 6:30am. Quick break, then only a few more hours until we’re done.

Freezing and horrible torrential rain flooding down the last few hours, know I have to walk to Lidl in about an hour and not looking forward to the prospect, bah.

Try working outside in it for twelve hours, I'm absolutely ****ed tonight.

I used to, back in the day. Winter felt like one long chest infection. Couldn't imagine it at this age, it'd probably put me six feet under.

Aye, I'm not going to miss leaving the high voltage industry next year. Definite Murtaugh moment today.

Had my little bro to stay last week, cuz he’s started a new job in London. Anyway, he had his Christmas do on Wednesday, and it culminated in one his direct reports being escorted from the venue by security, having started a row with a senior manager, and screaming from outside how she’s going to kill her. Gross misconduct and dismissal, apparently. Some other (old) dude who reports to him passed out on the dance floor and then got locked in the toilet, semi-conscious. This is a fairly respectable organisation, but it sounds like a ****show.

Fairly common occurrence at this time of the year - too much alcohol and people unable to control its effects. I be seen many a nasty head rear itself at do’s, usually after mixing spirits after a skinful of beer (usually whisky)

Yep. People see a company funded free bar as the green light to let loose and let the higher management know what they really think.

                        Also, some people are idiots.

Went ice skating for ours and then some food. Turned out well. Probably the little amount of booze

Years ago I went to a work do at a hotel which descended in to anarchy when the bar closed, they pulled the shutters... Then a 'workmate' broke in to the bar and started serving everyone drinks again. The bar staff, hotel manager and work senior managers where all involved in some late night arguments.

The group backed campaigners who say having no hard shoulder puts motorists and recovery workers at risk.

Smart Motorways are being branded a safety hazard. 16 crashes on stationary vehicles in a year on 100m of road, on non-Smart road (1,800 miles) it was 29 crashes.

Another one where Mr Magoo can see the deaths they cause before you install the first camera, but who cares when what you're actually aiming to do is install thousands of miles of speed camera tech?
