Last week's DF Retro on Resident Evil 2 got me interested in the remake again and The Outer Worlds from Obsidian looks like it's going to be really cool assuming it sticks to its 2019 release date

I like to consider myself retro-only these days, that said I'm looking forward to pushing my GPU in 2019.

1) Resi 2
2) DMC5
3) Doom Eternal
4) Cyberpunk 2077 (hopefully)
5) and maybe a bit of Rage 2.

Anything Nintendo throws out is a bonus. I'm looking forward to playing Smash throughout the year.

Res mode, as I've done for Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War IV, Rise of Tomb Raider etc. The only game I went for the performance mode instead, was The Surge.

Do you know what's crazy. I was playing Forza 4 on performance mode on my old 1080p TV then changed it to resolution mode which looks even better but the drop to 30 fps didn't really bother me. I thought it would have.

Exact opposite here. Was playing on best image quality but 30fps mode, switched it to 60fps mode and couldn't tell the difference in picture quality from the other mode so kept it at 60. This is on an X BTW if that makes any difference. So I'm now at 4K HDR and 60fps but apparently not best image quality I guess. Anyway, looks stunning apart from the human character models that look awful.

On X Performance mode is 1080p 60fps and quality mode is 4k native 30fps. Playground games are god tier.

1080p Horizon 3 looked amazing so having 4 rock out at 60fps is certainly a feat.

I hope character models finally look reasonably realistic next gen, because they still look terrible at the moment. It really spoils the illusion of reality.

Anyway, my game of the year is easily Astro Bot. It's a groundbreaking game that blew me away. I will never forget the moment I first entered the stunning world of Astro Bot.

I tried it too and there's not much in it tbh. I'm amazed at how good the game looks and runs at 60 fps. The One X is just the best console I've owned in years.
