It's amazing how silent coverage of these case dismissals have been after the documentary drama. Guess it doesn't suit the media narrative though, the documentary unearthed a ton of information and none of it implicated Jackson but raised no end of issues over the claims and documentary so this outcome isn't a surprise. The vast majority of people's tales and info is based on proven newspaper lies which was why I ended pretty much fully sliding into the 'innocent' camp.

Don't get me wrong, troubled as absolute hell, there's so much to deconstruct about Jackson. But an easy mark for others.

Definitely not an easy one for even for courts to decide on even with all the evidence.

However, personally, i never thought he was guilty of any of it, just a very troubled and mentality immature man trying to find a genuine friend in a world of nut cases and people trying to take advantage every opportunity they got.

My thinking always comes round to the cases involving Epstein, Weinstein, Cosby and Jimmy Savile. All of these involved a few people coming forward and it open the floodgates. Investigations took place, evidence gathered and people convicted.
Now MJ had hundreds if not thousands of children coming through neverland, most of them sick or vulnerable. Where are the queues of people coming forward? Either the Jackson estate is paying these people yearly to keep quiet, are there aren't any.

I think that's why it's becoming increasingly distasteful as a subject, there's not really much genuine evidence to support any of the claims ever made against Jackson which is why the court cases are always so quickly and easily crushed. Meanwhile the evidence that the claims are false is much more compelling, but as something the media manipulates ala Oprah it comes up meaning his kids also have to live with it despite him being dead now for a decade.

It all comes down to money, think of How much of a media circus that documentary created everyone had a take on it and it was enough for most of my office to talk about how guilty he was after seeing one side of a story presented in a sensationalist way. Like, the recent royal fallout or Tiger king "real life" controversy is big money so why let a little thing like truth or someones reputation get in the way.

Yep, and after the last round of media blitzing it would mean so many public figures walking back their armchair verdicts as well so instead you see it creep in like how Jackson's songs are back on the playlists - a move only made because the powers that be know the controversary isn't a real one. Even outside of it it shows up such as Era, one of the quickest and loudest to jump on these kinds of stories except for when their social media court gets it wrong and you end up with sheer silence. It's one hell of a long spiral of drama effectively fuelled by a blackmailing Dad, a journalist currently being investigated for fraud and a hack documentary maker.

Era finally brought up the Jackson outcome in the expected way, still trying to take the progressive high ground whilst shouting down anyone who mentions the recent verdicts or remotely questions the documentary contents. The virtuous site of the progressive indeed! "Silence scum!"

It's not directly related but stuff like this continues to create... pessimism given the amount of crud surrounding those involved in the cases against Jackson. This outcome would anecdotally add weight to the accusations levied against Bashir that he misled Jackson in order to secure that interview and how it was conducted, an accusation Bashir has previously refused to answer under oath.

Obviously he denied it because he’s a disgusting little piece of floor slime.

It's been interesting to hear on the radio about the red flaggers who were dismissed. It's so easy to forget that Bashir wasn't a known name when he nabbed Diana's interview and that he got it and his explaination as to how immediately raised red flags but the Beeb waved them away.

It's hardly shocking when you look at it all in isolation, Young unknown Journalist, uses deception to gain scoop of the decade cementing his career. The BBC find out how he got the interview and is fine with this and actively suppress any investigation. Its not like its the first time they have mislead the public. hiding and covering up the Savile fiasco for decades is one such other instance where their reputation was seen as more important than delivering the truth.

You can see how he ended up getting the Jackson interview.
Let's also not forget that the Jackson estate released all the unedited stuff which showed Jackson in a much better light. Bashir not only bull****s his way to interviews but doctors the footage.

When you say he doctors the footage, what do you mean? I haven't been keeping up with the news on this.

I'm guessing he means selectively edits it together.

Well, that's every piece of media. Everything is selectively edited. Actually altering the footage would be a very big deal.
