I remember people paying over £100 for Hotline Miami on PS4, but I think people have got wise to these LRG types and either collect them all straight away or just pick up titles they want now, so the resale market has cooled somewhat.

“Darius Cozmic Revelation” is getting a physical PS4 and Nintendo Switch release in the West

      Press release:
Stuttgart, September 24th 2020. Strictly Limited Games and TAITO are pleased to announce “Darius Cozmic Revelation”, which will include G-DARIUS HD and DARIUSBURST Another Chronicle EX+. Darius Cozmic Revelation will be released physically on Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation 4 for the West as a Limited and Collector’s Edition. Pre-order starts on September 27th 2020 only at www.strictlylimitedgames.com.

G-DARIUS HD and DARIUSBURST Another Chronicle EX+ are the two 3D games of the Darius series, both of which will include updated features to appeal to newcomers and longtime fans of the series alike.

G-DARIUS HD is the port of “G DARIUS” in high resolution – developed by the emulation specialists at M2. The game can also be played in low resolution like in the original arcade version.

From the epic boss battles to the memorable soundtrack, G-DARIUS stood out when it first got released in the arcades and up to these days, critics and fans are praising this game as a prime example of how to bring a 2D game series properly to 3D.

DARIUSBURST Another Chronicle EX+ is the latest iteration of the awesome DARIUSBURST series which started in 2009 on PSP, with gorgeous 3D graphics and additional features to expand the arcade version from 2010.

The game is developed by Pyramid and will include all features of the arcade version of “Another Chronicle EX”, as well as several new elements that will be revealed during the next weeks.

The limited edition is priced at 59,99€. The Nintendo Switch Edition is limited to 3500 copies worldwide, while the PlayStation 4 Edition is limited to 2000 copies worldwide.

It sounds like this time, both versions of the game get all of the titles - thank the lord. Locking actual content behind special editions was a very dangerous path to go down.

I think it was only the japanese releases that pulled that. Strictly Limited Games divided the games between two releases but didn't witheld any content from the standard editions.

Is anyone picking this up? I'm tempted and was wondering whether you think it's a worthwhile purchase.

By the way, their newsletter included a footnote saying another publisher might release at least one of the two games included here, as a regular retail release, I imagine.

Tagging @Deuteros and QualityChimp given the above - if you're considering the Japanese versions of Cozmic Revelation, today's a good day to get an order in! See this post.

Also seems that Red Art Games (I've not used these guys before) are releasing Hardcore Mecha for Switch tomorrow: link

I know briareos_kerensky reviewed it for the site here and was quite partial to it!

Hardcore Mecha does look pretty sweet.

I’ve used Red Art a few times, been as good as I’d expect each time.

Out of seemingly nowhere, we have Crypt of the Necrodancer physical releases showing up on Amazon, including a collector's edition with a steelbook and full OST.

                              PS4 limited: link

                              NSW limited: link

Not sure I want the bigger box or steelbook (and to spend £20 more), but I do quite fancy the OST. Seems they're not releasing until February, either.
