Chase HQ on the Spactrum really impressed me back in the day. But the arcade game was a coin-eater, the gist got got on the first few plays.
It was never a game I could be arsed to complete. It was always too Afterburner-y at 20p a pop. My pocket money was like 50p-£1 in those days, I got more from 5p one-armed-bandit machines.
I think a game called 'Speed King' or summat excited me with its smoothness as a child. But I remember it being very old, like 1983 or summat. I got my C64 Xmas '87.
