    Analogue Pocket

    Surprised it wasn't mentioned anywhere else, so figured I'd post a thread for it. Analogue have shared a tweet that's suggesting they have something exciting to share next week;

    The folks at RetroRGB have previously picked up on their application for trademarks (link) on the names "Analogue Pocket" and "Analogue 8", and has got folks speculating that this is one of those come to life.

      It's a shame it won't be another batch of NES NT. I really want one of those

        AES will be too small a market due to the cost of the games. Perhaps PCE?

        I know what it’s unlikely to be but what I’d love... if they took the FPGA from TerraOnion’s Mega SD and put it in an actual CD drive to go with the Mega SG. I’d definitely be on board!

            That’s a point - how about Analogue Pong? As the original never had composite out, never mind RGB, it can’t be used with a Framemeister. Furthermore its analogue RF output is not supported by modern DTV tuners. Therefore it makes sense for Analogue to release an FPGA product with HDMI out so we can play classics like Tennis and Squash in glorious 4K HDR.

              My guesses would be
              Analogue Pocket - FPGA Gameboy series with a good modern screen and battery life.

              Analogue 8 - Atari 8 bit systems.

                Analogue 8 - System that runs a bunch of 8bit cores. A jailbroken NES NT can already do this so makes sense.

                I'm hoping for a PC Engine to go along side the SNES and MD.

                Based on the colour of the text, pea green, it must be a Gameboy. Which sucks.

                    Why? The SNES and MD versions are outstanding.

                        Because both of those i can emulate dead easy in mini console form and i don't have huge physical collections for them anymore. I have a pretty sizable Japanese PS1 collection that on original hardware it's hard to get looking nice as the framemeister doesn't work well with the PS1 at all for the games i have so a PS1 that i could play my games on with the fancy graphical processing tricks of these machines would be ideal.

                          That would be great but surely it would be difficult to source floppy drives? And X68000 games are damn expensive. A jailbroken model with the ability to run games from SD card would surely be the only viable option.

                            I would be so down for this and it seems like a plausible next step in terms of sale potential.

                              I would genuinely put down pre-order money instantly if Analogue were to announce an FPGA N64.

                              EDIT: I know this is a non-starter at present.
