When is the EA deal over? They should do what they now seem to be doing with TV/movies and let different studios have the license to do their own thing with it. Just think of what specialised studios for different genres could do. EA are so slow too. In 5 years there has been what, 3 games? Two of which were multiplayer borefests and one single player borefest!

Started playing this through gamepass having fell of the PS4 version ages ago due to the intro level being prime garbage, terrible frame-rate, bad cutscenes, on rails interactive cutscenes a plenty and characters who don't blink really standout specially when one of the main characters is bugged eyed.

Got convinced by a friend to give it another go, saying most of the game is a good explorable adventure game with decent combat, and yes, yes it is. Quite enjoying it now having cleared travel to 2 new worlds with plenty of secrets dangling out of reach left on the Bog world.

However still some niggles, graphics mode on Series X has horrendous frame-rate likely even worse than my FF7remake experience on PS5 and even in performance mode there are this strange stutters every now and then which is quite off putting. Another bad part is the load times after death, it's been ages since i've experience 10-20 seconds loads and really puts me off fighting hidden strong monsters, for not only having to travel back to them but to sit idle for ages after death.

As far as the story goes so far having got out the jedi temple on planet 1,

i can't agree with the main characters being so gun-ho about conscripting kid soldiers to fight the empire, they're just as bad as the empire.

Did the first little bit last night, playing performance mode on PS5, there was nowhere to save I hope I don't have to restart. Somewhat refreshing that I can walk off the edge and die, there aren't invisible rails to guide me. But led me to trying all sorts of jumps etc which look possible but the game doesn't want you to go there.

I'm treating this as a fund adventure game, playing on easy (don't @ me I need some easiness in my life after months of Elden Ring). Combat buttons are ****e (for my muscle memory), I might need to bite the bullet and remap the controller.

Overall a good start. I haven't played a jedi game since SWTOR on my OG phat Xbox

I actually just played through this for the first time a few weeks ago. And yes, I went with easy mode too. I really enjoyed it overall. Some of the backtracking frustrated me but it’s a fun game and uses the Star Wars stuff well in my view.

OK so finished this off. I liked it but not enough to play through again. The story was nonsense but I liked the main character and BD. Some of the maps were great to explore but there were way too many slidey bits and squeeze through cracks that were just annoying. Going back for the stuff I missed was not fun.

Combat by the end was enjoyable, some of the jedi powers were fun and the feeling of slaying big groups of stormtroopers and taking down ATST walkers was cool. I definitely had had enough by the time the platinum popped.

I'm thinking between a 6 and 7 is probably fair.
