It looks good but largely in a... good for VR kind of way? It looks like there's a lot of physics at play with the ability to move objects with your hands and stuff but at the same time it felt pre-canned and like in reality it'll be highly immersive but a bit of a ball ache to play before getting to the end and wondering what to do with the equipment next. Almost like hopefully it's not too great because it'd be a waste of a Valve game... yet at the same time it looks like a visually tarted up Episode 3 if it wasn't VR.

Long cut short, it looks good for the specific purpose it's been made for but it doesn't really refire my thirst for a third game probably because it's so prohibitively cost gated and samey looking to HL2

This surely must be the plan, its not like its going to sell in enough numbers on pc to justify Its dev cost.

Gonna throw it out there, I don't think it'll come to console. Valve don't care about consoles or console gamers and by now most console gamers barely care about VR in high enough numbers and certainly not Half-Life.

Yeah, like Valve need to worry about recouping software development costs. They want to sell hardware.

              Half-Life is older today...

...than Space Invaders was when Half-Life came out.

Yea, that's probably a fair comment in that they haven't done any console stuff this generation.

Valve wants to make more Half Life games. More inbound in 3...

                      That was 100 years ago.

                          Just a slight exaggeration.

HL2 came to console when the hardware was up to snuff (shonky xbox version not withstanding)
Portal 1 came to console quickly.
Portal 2 came out on console same day as pc.

This will come out on console as well. PS5 vr is basically a certainty.

                            Only slight.

They've barely done anything at all though.

The games of Orange Box were great but even that was bare minimum effort for Valve. It was more about seeing if TF2 would float on console and they walked away very quickly. Portal 2 might be the only real time Valve have themselves put some effort in and they've shown zero interest in doing it since. If it does come to PS5 it'd be great as - let's be honest - VR software support is a massive weak spot so having a full high end title hit is a big moment even if it currently seems to be a lone one but for my money I don't see any reason to believe Valve could give a rats ass about their games being on someone else's platform anymore.
