My original intention was to go for an X99 dual 980Ti setup, where Nvidia were recommending 850w for a 'normal' build with more for overclocking etc. The X99 platform did need more watts than the mainstream CPUs even before overclocking and I was also running 3 HDDs, 2 optical drives, Creative ZxR, network card, watercooling and case lighting. So I wanted the headroom. In the end I never did go for the second Ti, but instead upgraded to a Nvidia 1080 in which needed less power. But I didn't want to rip out the PSU so I stuck with it. Sold it late last year I still got over half what I paid for it back. Beautiful PSU.

Although my point was more that these NAS units are super efficient when it comes to energy use and therefore will consumes much, much less electricity than a desktop PC (which can obviously vary).
