Whatever it may be, the public ain't buying it and this is not going away anytime soon - this is from the Daily Mail of all place, the newspaper that usually sucks Johnson's johnson
Only 8% of people believe that Cummings was testing his eyesight. I'm surprised it's as high as that (MPs poll stuffing maybe). I'll bet even less people believe Gove when he said he often tests his eyesight by going for a drive.

Outcry after some in England told they would lose government support without doctors being able to talk to them first
The Government has texted Cancer, Transplant and Asthma sufferers to tell them they no longer qualify for the shielding list or food parcels - and it's not in error. Austerity Reborn!

I notice they've stopped giving the number of people tested in the UK Gov figures, only the number of tests and number of positive tests now. This makes me suspect that the number of unique people being tested in only increasing slightly, otherwise, why stop providing it?
If you're only testing the same people over and over, I'd expect the new infection number to be dropping thus provide a false narrative.
Just seems strange they'd be hiding that number to me if there wasn't something odd going on.
Edit - just noticed your link Cassius_Smoke - the gov "hadn't noticed", hmmm, chinny reckon.Last edited by MartyG; 27-05-2020, 18:41.

Emily Maitlis was replaced in tonights Newsnight for rubbishing Johnson and Cummings on air the night before.
The Police say the public are citing Cummings when caught breaking lockdown
And Johnson's call on everyone to move on from talking about Cummings actions falls on deaf ears and Tory MPs continue to grow in objection

“So, the government has just said they will review fixed penalties that have been imposed on people by the police while travelling for childcare reasons during lockdown.
There is currently no mechanism to do this. Fixed penalty notices are issued by the police and can be challenged through the courts; they have nothing to do with government.
So the government has effectively said they will have to create a new appeals and refund procedure, apparently outside the judicial process, in order to retrospectively legalise the behaviour of a special adviser.
This is constitutionally so far beyond wrong it's jaw-droppingly weird.
If you have friends who are lawyers you will probably find right now that they're either speechless or can't stop talking.”
