Johnson continues his hot streak of performing very poorly against Starmer in PMQs after failing badly to try and deflect Starmers questions about the mismanagement of the Russian Report with tired tropes about him being a Remainer who can't accept the Referendum result.

The NHS will be eaten and there are people who will make a lot of money in the process. The trip to the toilet afterwards will be long and unforgiving.

Yorkshire voted for Brexit, then voted Tory in 2019 and is now surprised that after telling us to back Johnson he's sold them down the river (Ouse?) by voting against a clause that would have set a requirement “for imported agricultural goods to meet animal health” and other standards “which are at least as high as those which apply to UK produced agricultural goods”.
Funny that it's farmers being taught that you reap what you sow...

Labours anti-semitism settlement splits the party between those who are of the Corbyn old guard and those who are... well... right.
The new chair of Parliaments Intelligence and Security Committee essentially attempts to tell Dominic Cummings to shut the F up and get back in his lane.
Stagecoach looks set to make cuts
Only a quarter of eligible cafes, pubs and restaurants registered for half-price dining scheme less than two weeks before launch
And only 25% of businesses that qualify to use the Government's Eat Out discount in August, that beat the vouchers plan, have bothered to sign up for it preparing for yet another Tory dud.

EDIT: I just realised, presumably the gov't is paying the rest. That's a bit of a joke.

Okay so not UK related but we've just had one of our top politicians here in Ireland pushing for school reopening by stating that many countries hit harder than us kept their schools open, many countries have higher numbers than us are reopening their schools so why can't we? As if these things aren't related.
There have been so many weird "wait, where's the common sense there?" moments during this whole thing.

Sainsbury's, Asda, Co-Op...
A failure to comply will see police fine those flouting the guidance £100, reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days, and there are plenty of reasons to be exempt
Costa and McDonald's are all set to relax or not support enforcing face masks in stores
PM says government did not understand Covid-19 in early weeks; UK death toll rises by 138 to 45,677; ONS figures suggest cases in England stable or possibly rising
Whilst UK deaths in the last 24hrs totalled 138 from the virus whilst the Office for National Statistics has said that uncertainties in the figures mean that new cases in the UK are now stable or potentially beginning to rise

I would have expected better of the UK. I mean, looking at the US and thinking that people can't be smarter in the UK... well, I guess I think UK people can be smarter. And wouldn't get as stroppy about following the rules. So yeah, I can blame them. Coming out and saying they won't enforce wearing masks only makes it much more difficult for anyone else to enforce it and will encourage some people not to wear them. It's yet another very mixed message, which has definitely been a problem in the UK from day one.

How ****ing long are people spending in shops that they won't wear a mask?
I'm not all for following everything the government says blindly. But in this case, masks might have been helpful 2 months ago, and it's not hard to see that they stop you coughing on other people, so it's an easy thing to just go with for a short while. It's like seatbelts.... No need for them most of the time. But might as well, just in case.
