I just want this game to be as good as BF4 (when the finally fixed BF4 that is).

I reckon it will be good.

A lot will depend on if EA can get it in its head that BF is not nor never will be Call of Duty. It's staggering how off the mark the franchise got last gen.

Battlefield is the joy of jumping into a tank as a passenger as it rolls by and shooting foot-soldiers with anti-aircraft rounds while easily spotting them in infra-red. Until the enemy team gets bored and sends an apache gunship over to blow the tank up. It's also about stabbing people in the back while they use mortars. And the whole world erupting in noise and explosions around you at a choke point while you listen to the cool noise of grenade launchers and airbursts pop nearby, while laying down covering fire with a muzzle braked LMG, while sitting on a medkit and a team member right next to you with charged up defibrillator ready to revive you. And then jumping out of a plane, pulling a parachute and dropping C4 blocks on to a helicopter as it hovers underneath you and pulling the trigger, and during the "who killed you sequence" they see a man dropping from the sky.

a key part of of the BF experience is vengeance, if some tank crew is gunning, running and fixing, i'm darn well jumping in C4 up'd jeep to kamikaze at ramming speeds or chasing a an ace chopper pilot and his banana riding repair crew around with a anti air. Or being on the other end of that chain, blowing up that jeep before it gets you, to then quickly hop out and teabag for the deathcam.

I just need this to be BF4 with more destruction and if possible even more players than 64 for a bigger mess.

It was always frustrating that the formula was always so obvious and EA and DICE kept moving further away from it. The sandbox madness and freedom of approach is Battlefield, it's best loved entries all embrace that.

EA: "We know that you guys out there love Battlefield, and we know that some of you love the classic bombastic destruction of the PS3 and 360 era whereas some of you are veterans of our more recent entries such as Battlefields 1 and V.

But more than that we know that you guys love loot boxes... so we're here to announce Battlefield VI - the first loot box title!

Our expert game makers at DICE have created two versions of the game giving players two distinct experiences of the Battlefield experience. Players must pay us £3.99* per week to access the game and our servers in Bermuda will randomly allocate you access to one of these two experiences. The first is the greatest and most explosive Battlefield experience yet, the second is absolutely awful and betrays the classic experience on every level. Pre-order now to gain access to the new experience... Woke Island!

On Woke Island players face each other on the classic wake island map but can't attack each other in the ultimate pacifist, commercial experience. Instead the winner is decided by which player invests the most money in EA stocks and shares, the winning player gets a digital hat on their avatar for a week and as a special bonus prize 10% of that weeks takings will be paid directly into my pension pot!

Preorder now - Battlefield VI - preorder now - it's what our Shareholders want - preorder now - and what you deserve...

                  ...preorder

*subscriptions cannot be cancelled - EA GAMES: It's in the small print"

Even the parody is too close to reality at this point

I'm probably going to regret saying this but in the leaked media this looks... awesome? Like what we should have had a generation ago after BF4 lay the foundation

                        "Welcome to A World Transformed"
"U.S.A. and Russia stand at the brink of war. Proxy wars have waged for decades, generating experienced but displaced combat veterans. These Specialists use their skills to shape the future — a future worth fighting for."
"Battlefield 2042 introduces 7 vast maps for up to 128* players. From Seoul’s cities to Egypt’s deserts, every map offers a unique experience based on the natural environment."
"Customize weapons, gadgets and vehicles in-battle to tip the scales in your favor. Summon a robotic dog built for battle, employ a grappling hook or don your very own wingsuit."
"Choose your role on the battlefield and form hand-tailored squads through the new Specialist system. Based on Battlefield’s four Classes, Specialists have one unique Specialty and Trait – but the rest of the loadout is fully customizable."

Looks great, I just hope it is as good as it looks. I think besides BFBC2 way back BF4 is the best the franchise has ever been so if this is a return to form count me in.

Is it bad that I'm hoping for a season pass? At least we were paying for stuff and what we were getting was worthwhile.

Yep We all wanted paid season passes gone but it's largely led to a flood of god awful cosmetics and less maps
