The Matrix was an easy vote as well as South Park but I had to give The Mummy the nod as well. At 21 years old now it's still a great watch and holds up better than most Indy copies.

The Matrix should win this poll by an absolute country mile.

A truly groundbreaking film, shame about the sequels.

^it's not getting MY vote! I rewatched it last night. It may have broken ground but so do dogs when they bury their turds in the garden. Naaaaah, it's not really that bad. But once you've seen it once, it's just special fx and predictability. And I'm a lot older, now.

My vote's going to THE STRAIGHT STORY. It's still great. It will always be great. And nice.

1999 might look - on paper - a good year for films but I've recently rewatched several from that very year and have to admit they just feel dead and cold and kinda 'metallic'.

I'm at the point where I'm much preferring much older movies, now. I get stoked for Hitchcock more. Getting old.

He’s the master. My favourite film maker and I’d say Vertigo and Rear Window are my two fave films ever *sorry for off-top*

Agreed, I've only seen about eight of his films and there's loads more to see!!!

Voted based on what I'd seen but aside from Matrix, Toy Story 2 & Phantom Menace, 1999 seemed pretty ****e for films I actually care about in this day & age, everything else dulled to a point where I don't think I'll bother ever revisiting any of them

I went with Haunting & House on Haunted Hill as I enjoy both of them
House was freaking creepy as funk but then the ending went & junked it all up massively with that retarded ghost thing but up until then I loved it.

Sleepy Hollow was an interesting take
Sixth Sense still has the ultimate twist ending IMO

But yeah pretty weak showings for me

Ohhhhh god I saw THE HAUNTING in Blackpool when it had just come out at that new Odeon. It was so dull! And I felt really detached from it all, it felt really manufactured like a lot of films of that era did. Thank god there were so many great games about at the time!
