The explosion of film releases ever increasing feels really clear with 2000, but from the above starter list Battle Royale stands out the most

If this list was 100 films long, you could whittle the list down to just one champion - Battle Royale.

I saw Battle Royale at the cinema and really needed a wee, but totally held it in like a champ because I didn't want to miss a second of it.

Recently watched Chicken Run and all the other Aardman films on Netflix/Prime and it's still fun.
I had a lot of fun with Charlie's Angels and it manages to have fun and laugh at itself. Some good fight choreography by Yuen Cheung-yan, whose brother is Yuen Woo-Ping, who was action choreographer on Crouching Tiger, which I also ticked.

I was so pleased the a martial arts film was getting some international attention, and even Oscars buzz.
Still not 100% sold on wuxia films as one minute the fighting is grounded, the next it's on bamboo leaves, but some of those sequences are great, especially when Michelle Yeoh is working her way through a weapon rack to try and beat Zhang Ziyi and her Green Destiny sword.

CT, HD is one of those films that everyone bought, then never watched again.

I took my then other half to see the premier of CTHD in Glasgow. Felt like we were the only peeps in the room that needed the subtitles! I've since bought it on DVD, Superbit DVD, Blu-Ray and UHD.

But ultimately Battle Royale is the top film on the list.

I saw CTHD at the Curzon on Shaftesbury Avenue - was an absolute hoot with everyone cheering each fight scene.

Boiler Room is ace. "I am a ****ing millionaire"
