The FM Towns version (Ok a couple of years after the PCE port) would like a word.

    1. Splatterhouse
    2. Golden Axe

If I never played the other four again I wouldn't be too sad. But those two...

Edit - One of the great covers too https://splatterhouse.kontek.net/fmtcover.jpg

I just meant it wasn't ported to other systems of that generation. But it is interesting that the FM Towns got a port but the X68000 didn't.

I'm now in the mood to play Splatterhouse 2 on the Mega Drive, which I much prefer over the third game.

Strider - The best main character in any game . I wish I could look and be as cool as Strider. Also the MD version kicks Ass!!.

The Amiga version is surprisingly good, seeing most Amiga coin-op ports were poor.

The box art though... Good or bad?

Yeah, he's easily one of the coolest gaming characters ever created.

Yeah, no BS arcade thrills. Such a well designed game.

Good, because its reminds me of the VHS Artwork to Deathstalker. One of my all-time fav classic B Movies

The best. I wanted to look and be this man, after getting Strider on import

Yeah, it also has a 'Frank Frazetta' vibe about it. I always loved VHS box art like this.

You should make a costume and visit a cosplay convention. Don't forget to post the pics here.

If you mean I can include the MD version of SHADOW DANCER, then it's as follows:

                      SHADOW DANCER
                      SHINOBI (especially)
                      STRIDER.

                      If not, it's:

                      SHINOBI
                      STRIDER
                      SPLATTERHOUSE.

(SHINOBI shuriken sounds FTW, tho only the orig arcade vers, MS vers sounds like rancid mince found in a stripy sock in an industrial wasteland).

Seeing the MD version is a completely different game, you'll have to go with Splatterhouse. It would be the same with ESWAT. It's interesting how Sega decided not to do direct arcade ports, seeing people were eager to play arcade games in the home. It benefits us as retro gamers though, so we have four distinct games to enjoy.

                            This truly is an abomination.

If Hollywood had adapted the game to film it would have starred Stephen Dorff.
