I still don't get how 28 Days Later is making it through. It made the 2002 final!

I don't know either. There's some explaining to be done!

I've voted for 28 Days Later but might change when we know.
Nearly chose Kill Bill, but there are other martial arts, revenge and QT films I'd rate higher, but nothing has come close to the thrills of 28 Days Later. The sequel is ooookaaaay and Dawn of the Dead was a blast, but 28DL feels like it has no real peers.

Also, It feels more and more like we're trying to isolate ourselves from the rest of the world, both with Brexit and our inability to deal with Coronavirus.

Had a check and found out. So, 28DL being a low budget UK film saw its release here in November 2002, it's wider release including the US etc took place in 2003 and it's the 7-8 months later wide release where the film became a hit
