Paramount has stupidly walked into the same trap as Warner Bros after cutting the second films theatrical window to 45 days instead of 90. As such they are now in a pay dispute with Blunt and Krasinski.

I haven't seen the sequel, it kept slipping off our watch list as I never felt it was a film that needed expanding on. I enjoyed the original but it's pretty much reliant on playing out its scenario. The tenseness of the situation she's in the second half of the film.
The stuff with the daughter felt daft and the wider set up felt no different that Walking Dead etc. The post-apocalyptic survival setting is deeply overplayed these days.
