Dreamcast controller not recognised

I've had a controller that seems fine looking at it, no obvious damage but it doesn't get detected by the DC. It's the same region as the console if that matters. Any advice or tips?

Does another pad work? If not you may have blown a fuse in the dc

Sorry I didn't mention that, other pads work fine.

Have you compared connectors on the controllers, I’ve seen someone need to repair one because a pin has slid down inside of the casing.

The pins seemed fine. No obvious damage to the pad. Weird.
