    Retro|Spective 180: Geist

    History in Games:
    2005 - Geist

    Overview:
Both the Gamecube and Nintendo's second ever M-rated published game, Geist was a unique FPS where the player possessed characters to work their way through puzzles and levels in a narrative adventure as a soldier trying to regain possession of his own body. Players have to balance the traditional FPS elements with moments where their spirit is outside of a host body and is being pulled toward the afterlife.

What did you think of the Gamecubes other Nintendo ghost game?

I didn't mind this as clunky as it was. It was an interesting idea that remains untapped and it's a shame the execution didn't meet the standard we'd normally expect of a Nintendo published title.

I never owned it but it sounded interesting.

Just it had a REALLY horrible cover. Honestly, I don't know why I detested it so much. I'm weird.

But it deffo sounded clunky. And I only wanted the slick games on GC, I could get better versions of other games on XB.

Might stick it on this modded Wii when I can be arsed.

Enjoyed it, yes a bit clunky, but the story was sound enough, and kept me playing until the end.
