    The Exorcist VI - VII

A year ago, Morgan Creek Entertainment announced plans for a reboot of William Friedkin’s iconic 1973 horror classic “The Exorcist”. The news was met with a lot of backlash, but things softened a bit when “Joe” and “Stronger” director David Gordon Green was hired to helm – Green coming off 2018’s successful “Halloween” revival. Green […]

The new Exorcist film directed by the helmer of the recent Halloween revival sequel has said that the new film won't be a reboot but will instead be a sequel to the existing canon. It still sounds like this most directly relates to the original but unlike Halloween it won't be cutting the existing sequels out of the arc.

Exorcist already had a great sequel, it just wasn't in movie form.

In a massive deal said to be worth over $400 million, Universal Pictures and Peacock have acquired the rights to Blumhouse Productions planned follow-up trilogy to William Friedkin’s iconic horror feature “The Exorcist”. David Gordon Green, who helmed 2018’s “Halloween” revival and both its upcoming sequels, is also officially confirmed to have signed on to […]

Universal has paid $400m to nab the rights to the planned Exorcist revival which is now confirmed to cover a trilogy of films. Ellen Burstyn is returning for the first of the films. The plot follows a father who's child is in the throes of possession so he tracks Chris down for help. Still sounds like the series had the better set up.

Sounds to me like the Exorcist knows he's onto a winner and probably charging by the hour.

A lesson to all of us to only pay an Exorcist upon completion of a job or they'll be stringing it out for at least VIII films.

Ooh, may just go to see this on the big screen. The last horror I saw at the cinema was way back in the 90s.

David Gordon Green Exits "Exorcist: Deceiver" - Dark Horizons
A new director is going to be found and the next entry is likely to step back from its 2025 release date. This is likely an effort to bring in a better reviewing installment despite the film proving to be a financial hit for the company
