Game 121 - Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
When including cameo's this is the 200th title to have Mario appear in it, but the sixth within the MvDK franchise itself. Though it returns to being 2D in nature, the game remains far from the origin with players using the touch pad to draw paths for the mini-Mario's once again. Though the game was quite large, reviews were mixed thanks to how stale the format was becoming.
Was this entry your tipping point?

Said it before, will say it again and will keep on saying it: Mario vs. Donkey Kong died as an IP when Nintendo ditched the tight arcade-style platforming of the GBA original (and DK '94 on the GB before it) in favour of boring touchscreen-style puzzles a la Lemmings.
It will not be revived until Nintendo go back to the former.

"In a world where Mario and friends are wind-up toys-"
"No."
"-but-"
"Just no."

Game 122 - Mario Party 10
The party may never end but the numbering finally does with this double digit installment for WiiU that follows on from the ninth entries approach of having players move in a single cart. Some new modes and Gamepad use won praise but reviewers remained turned off by the cart system and the mixed reviews and low popularity of the system limited its impact.
10 out of 10?

Basically just meant you moved around the board as one so when stuff happened on squares you landed on, it happened to all of you.
Why they thought that was a good idea I don't know. It seemed to serve only to simplify the game and make it less interesting and competitive. Maybe it was a change aimed at parents playing with young children? It would make sense, since these games felt very kiddy.
I played both 8 and 10, which both featured the 'car' thing. Both were boring games that lasted about two seconds with my friendship group. I think we genuinely only played 10 once.

Game 123 - Puzzle & Dragons Z: Super Mario Bros Edition
Released in 2015, the game uses the gameplay of P&DZ but added Mario and friends along with a story and overworld based on Nintendo's mascot. When it saw its western release it was packaged with the non-Mario predecessor also. Based on a mobile phone game, RPG elements were added to pad out the experience but reviews still game in mixed.
Ever try this one out?

Loved it because it was basically a rework of a very successful phone game, where several major sites that had given good reviews of the phone game said it was boring... One even admitting this made them realise that the phone game had ensnared them with its gambling mechanics, ergo the game was only fun when you were spending real money or, more appropriately, when the game was using "stamina" to force you to only play a little bit every day unless you spent money, somehow making the game feel it had more "value".
Perfect summary of how Candy Crush has laid waste to the puzzle game genre.

Game 125 - Super Mario Maker
The first installment in yet another franchise off shoot arrived for the WiiU, giving players the ability to create their own Mario levels. Using a choice of elements and styles from Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World or New Super Mario Bros U players could share their creations online. The game was well received and ported to the 3DS the year after with Nintendo made courses included.
What did you Maker this?

Game 126 - Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
The WiiU entry into the franchise was one of the poorest received entries. For this entry not much that was new was added and the character roster was even reduced. The jump shot and updated visuals were the biggest change but in the end its impact was very limited
