    <<Tenchu Vs Ninja Gaiden>>

Anyone bothered bout this one? I enjoyed it on the PS2, great game but found it way to unforgiving at times, when you reach far into a level you lose and have to start again from scratch, xbox version apparently you just carry on close by where you died.

And now that Ninja Gaiden (US) is out, would be interesting to see how they compare to each other, Gaiden more arcadey than Tenchu's more realistic approach? Hmmm...

A read of the First Play guidelines is in order I think:

oops k, hehe - I had a quick game now on both - first impressions is that Gaiden seems a bit quiet at times altho i expect it will pick up in the later levels, - the camera is a bit horrible at times too, but its an impressive game none the less - shall play more - Tenchu on the other hand just i'd say is a deeper game. Both are pretty good at what they do, Gaiden arcadey, Tenchu more simulation, stealth, use of weapons & gory kills etc.

I got to the last level of Tenchu (PS2) and just lost interest. It was fun, sort of. I dont think I can go back it after NG, its damn near unplayable.

        Good camera though :P

Ah but there's not enough games out these days, Ninja Gaiden is a technically impressive piece of coding. Tenchu is a great game game and even better now on the Xbox, both have their merits so all in all i'd say play both.

          Pros & cons Ninja Gaiden:

          (+)
          - Great graphics, fast paced action
          - Very impressive
          - Hard game yet very challenging
          - 3 bonus games
          (-)
          - Can be too much for the casual gamer
          - Camera dodgy at times
          - Bodies disappear when killed (it is an arcade game)
          - Will be censored apparently on the Europe versions

Tenchu (Return from darkness - Xbox version):
          (+)
          - New bosses over two new single-player maps-a samurai mansion and a three-story pagoda. Improved game play balance with re-tuned A.I. and new enemy and item placement force you to think on your feet
          - Bodies stay on the ground, many gruesome, brutal & realistic ways of killing your enemies, you can even drag and hide the bodies now to avoid detection
          - New Restart and Continue functions: Xbox-exclusive functions for the hardcore and casual gamers. The Restart function will allow players to restart a mission at the beginning of a stage with all of the items previously collected. The Continue function, designed for novice players, will alleviate the frustration of dying in pitfalls and having to start at the beginning of a mission.
          - Multiple mission paths: Complete unique mission objectives, including espionage, theft, and assassination. Uniquely crafted levels allow you to determine the most efficient way to achieve your mission goals. Multiple game endings, based on earlier game decisions and unique enemy placements
          - 15 rating, so nothing is censored
          - More deeper more authentic Ninja based game
          - Camera is better than Gaiden's
          (-)
          - Can be dragging at times as there are some long missions

If your hankering for more after completing Gaiden I'd suggest Tenchu.

          - All i want now is a revamped version of C64's classic The Last Ninja! -
