    Boxart (Japan)

    Release Dates
    US - 5 Dec 2005

    Synopsis
Players move into a living, breathing world inside the Nintendo DS...and then invite their friends to visit from anywhere on earth.

Players make their own stories. A player and up to three friends move into a village and just live life, extend a home, interact with their neighbors and explore the village.

Much of the cast of the original Animal Crossing returns, including animals of all shapes and personality types: K.K. Slider, Tom Nook, Blathers, Mr. Resetti and more. There are also a number of new characters.

Oide Doubutsu no Mori (someone merge this with the bullpen thread please)

Just picked it up. Graphics are nice and utilise a rather charming rolling effect to prevent popup. Sound is gorgeous. Not got the wifi working yet as the bastards at sofmap shut it down today to demo 360. More as I figure it out.

PS, you take taxis in this game. Trains were better.

      Update.

The official Nintendo wifi adapter to plug into your USB port is apparently out there, but because it has no startup software (I assume) you won't be able to use it without Windows XP. It's also not available in the shops.

For this reason I've had to drop fifty quid on a wireless access point for my bedroom. So far so good, except that I STILL have no idea how the "Friend code" system which I need to negotiate works. The fact that the dog that handles your internet options speaks archaic servile Japanese like something out of a ninja movie is NOT HELPING.

      Back to the drawing board.

        Heres the important question!

Any sign of Boots or Peaches yet?

I've got Savannah, Sebastian and Gonzales in my village.

Players only have one house and have to cohabit, by the way.

Savannah the carpet selling camel from the first game, or someone else entirely?
If someone else entirely, why would they do that? Why? WHY???

If it's anything like the GC version, then yes. The wife and I had a character each and would each play for about an hour a day religiously for months.

In game, are there any NES or hopefully SNES games to collect and play?

                      Yeah.
                      Savannah was a Zebra.
Bi-atch lived in my town, 'til she upped sticks and moved in to the Mrs' place.
                      Never forgave her for that...

Nintendo stated there would be no famicom games this time round.

                            priceless

Hehe best one i did like that was to create a pornographic design & give it to the able sisters. It wasnt long before everyone in my town were wearing hardcore porn tshirts.

My goodness I need to hear more about this. The GC Animal Crossing is just fabulously unique (and this time of the year it's a laugh firing up the GC version and seeing the snow, send christmas gifts to your neighbours and make talking snowmen etc ).

My girlfriend has the US version on pre-order for me, so I just hope it doesn't get put back. PAL has already been put back until March, am I right?

I would be very interested in if you could say how the town is - meaning what shops are there, where's KK Cool, are there any new buildings in the town etc?
