Avatar Prime fights. Do you need them?

Did Ifrit last night with a group Moot put together so I now have both a moon bauble and all 6 Trial by? quests as complete. Once again the randomness of Astral Flow strikes with the 2 previous avatars dealing 1200+ damage yet Inferno barely causing a scratch.
