    A good/terrifying setup, I'll give it that.

Not yet, hopig it's good though. 2 eps to rescue a poor final season.

Anyone else seen the finale yet?

Watching it tomoz but read the reviews as the show was well over the shark anyway. No saving it in the end.

Will post thoughts later, but not a fan of the ending, really. Interesting to note that all the great TV shows are ending with

            full beards

            , at the moment.

I didn't like the ending either. Slow final season but has been a great series over the years.

I didn't mind this season too much, I think whatever the writers did for the ending they wouldn't be able to please everyone. Dexter has been enjoyable overall as a production, they've played it safe leaving the ending quite open should they (probably not sensibly) revive the series at a later date.

There was talk of a spin off series.

A spin off did cross my mind, but more for the other characters rather than Dexter himself.

Be interesting to see what Michael C Hall does next.

Agreed - he was fantastic in Six Feet Under, too. As for Dexter, a couple of the seasons haven't been top notch, and this one had a weak, schmaltzy ending; but it's been a great ride overall.

Deborah from Dexter is in a new pilot, Sea of Fire ... as an FBI agent, sounds promising though.

Dexter alumna Jennifer Carpenter has lined up her next project, signing on as the female lead in ABC’s drama pilot Sea Of Fire, from writer Jenna Bans, Sony TV, Scripted World and Mandeville. When three teenage girls star in a pornographic film, it tears their families apart and leads to a disappearance, a murder and […]

Dexter is back to his blood-spattering ways after Showtime ordered a new limited-series revival of the long-running serial-killer drama. Michael C. Hall, who starred as the title character in the 2006-13 series, is back along with showrunner Clyde Phillips. The premium cable network has handed the series a 10-part run that is set to go […]

Some things just don't need reviving from the dead.

The other week came the news that Showtime was reviving its Michael C. Hall-led drama series “Dexter” with a limited series from original showrunner Clyde Phillips. The news comes seven years since the show went off the air following eight seasons and a widely panned finale in which Dexter Morgan effectively departs Miami and is […]

The shows maker has said that he doesn't view the new season as a continuation or by the sounds of it something to be revisited with future seasons, instead it's a second finale intended to correct the ending of Season 08. The new season will open on the back of S08's final scene and revisit the character in a manner intended to give him proper closure.

Clancy Brown has been cast as the primary villain, Kurt Caldwell, in the upcoming revival of “Dexter” at Showtime. Caldwell is big rig truck store owner and unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone. However, should you cross him, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help […]
