****ing hell! I'm really sorry to hear that but so happy you're still here Fuse!

Take loads of rest and take off as much time as you can. My Dad had one fitted 10 years ago and just got his replacement fitted and it really improved his quality of life and fitness. Hope you recover soon and get back to it!

      Much love your way mate!

I hate that it's always me bumping this thread, but here we are. Was away for a friend's wedding in Norway earlier this month, and long story short, I did not feel great. I held out until I was back, but within 24 hours of walking into my local hospital I had been transferred to another where they confirmed another heart attack (my third) and during a lengthy, complicated angioplasty procedure, another stent (my eleventh) was added to the collection.

Of particular concern this time is that there were other, more complex areas of arterial blockage they couldn't deal with then and there, and follow up tests also confirmed that the heart function has gotten notably worse as a result of it all. I was monitored in hospital for two and a bit weeks as various tests were done to figure out what the plan is from here, so while I'm at home and resting for now, I'm back into a specialist hospital next week for another procedure. Due to the inherent risk from my current condition, they'll be using an impella device to handle some of the heart's pumping function while they do the this next tricky stent. While I'm not sick enough right now, they're also lining me up for the possibility of needing a pump or transplant in the coming years.

Tomorrow is my 40th birthday and I feel more like 70!

                        Oh man, that sounds grim.
I always wonder about heart attacks and the like myself as I'm certainly over weight and do eat a lot of crap.
Fingers crossed for you, fuse. Let's hope the upcoming treatment goes well.

Wishing you all the best Fuse, I hope the treatment goes well. I had considered posting myself but wasn't sure.

I got diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis just over a year ago. I'd had issues with joints occasionally getting stiff for a number of years but figured it was due to being too sedentary and not getting enough exercise. Then in Feb 2022 my right ankle blew up and wouldn't go down. I went to my GP about it, but they were convinced it was just a twisted ankle. Blood tests showed nothing conclusive. Over the next six months it spread to my knees, feet, neck, hands, elbows and lower back also. My GP still had no clue and just kept taking blood tests. Then on the first crisp day of autumn I woke up unable to fully bend or straighten my arms or legs.

In the end a physiotherapist referred me to a rheumatoid specialist after noticing the rheumatoid levels in my blood tests were raised (but still within limits). They drained my knee of an insane amount of fluid and gave me a steroid injection. I started taking some meds and they do seem to work mostly, although I still get stiffness and pain in my joints, especially when its cold/damp. PS5 haptics no longer cause me hand pain, which looking back may have been an early warning sign.

Well done on getting a diagnosis, Cepp. Especially after being initially fobbed off.

Bit miffed with the NHS at the moment. Bro and sister-in-law were told after a baby scan that the baby had fluid on the brain had to wait ages for a second scan where they were told everything is alright. That was a week-or-so of unnecessary stress.

Cousin was referred to the hospital in October for a biopsy where she was told by the nurse it was nothing bad and it wasn't cancer.
Had the scan in January, 4 months later, the at the appointment, the nurse said it looked like nothing and wasn't worth doing, but my cousin said "I'm here now, might as well do it." Three weeks later she gets a call on the way to work telling her to come to the hospital urgently.

She had a malignant melanoma of at least stage 2a.

That's been removed but more tissue needs to be removed as a precautionary measure and they'll do lymph node testing to see if it's spread there.
So it's a whole load of uncertainty at the moment, but it's okay, they've given the number of a nurse to speak to - oh, the same one that said "it's nothing" and won't answer her phone.

All of this is rubbish, but particularly frustrating when my mother-in-law had a missed cancer diagnosis (and survived) and my mom who nobody would believe until it was too late and didn't survive.

Get well soon fuse - we need you to still be around so we can continue to marvel at having seen the legendary utopia that is your gaming collection/setup!

You too Cepp - here's hoping for better days ahead for you. If nothing else, diagnosis now hopefully means management if not outright cure. Go well!
