Guncon 2 - 100hz Tv compatible??

Just been offered a CRT Sony TV by a mate on the cheap. Fancied the look of it but presumed as it's 100hz it wouldn't support the G-Con 2 - however after having a quick Google search appears that Guncon 2 can be compatible with some 100hz sets - wanted to check, is this true???

Usually with 100hz tvs you can disable the 100 so it would go down to 60 or 50 depending on pal & ntsc. Ask you're mate to take a look at the menu

yeha have done - he's not the 'techie' type sadly
i've taken a look at a pdf of the manual and it looks like it only supports 100hz - there are 3 modes 'Normal' 'Digi +' and 'Advanced' the 'Normal' mode is still 'basic 100hz picture quality. Any ideas??

Depends on the individual TV. I had the Guncon 2 and Xbox Thrustmaster gun both claimed to be 100Hz compatible. Neither worked on my TV (Loewe Aconda).
Seemed to be the de-interlacing aspect of the TV that prevented them from working.
The 'Normal' mode may be OK if it's strictly 100Hz.

anyway of checking the model??? - a google search brings up nothing -the model is KV28FX65U and is only 100hz - it is not switchable to 50hz.

The G-Con 2 worked perfectly on my old Philips 100hz only CRT.
