Hi guys. Recently Red Art Games got in touch and asked if I'd be interested in checking out some of their physical versions of digital only games. Hell, yeah! Physical media forever.

The Japanese gaming PC that not many people talk about.

Great video Mark. The FM Towns was always one of those fascinating, completely unobtainable systems, like the X68000 and the PC Engine. Looking at it now it's certainly certainly not X68000 level, but still impressive for the era, and way, way ahead of the Amiga and ST.

Mahou Daisakusen is on the PS4 by the way, and it was ported by M2. It's only on the Japanese PSN store though. According to Wikipedia there's an X68000 port too.

Sexy computers that only rich people could afford. If only I had been Richie Rich.

I think the Sharp X68000 cost $3000. So quite a bit more expensive than the £399 Amiga.

FM Towns and Sharp X68000 made the Neo Geo look cheap LOL

My dad bought four Neo Geo consoles instead of a Sharp X68000 -- one for each member of the family.

Then he saw the price of Neo Geo games.

I can't talk mind, I bought a 3DO and that cost a f-ing fortune and spend over £650 quid on an import Saturn in 1994.

That first black PC Setup is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever laid my eyes on (that wasn't naked )

The most I've ever spent on a console is £400 for an import 3DO. But at least you got a bundled game[Crash 'n Burn] which I thought was amazing back then. People talk about how it cost $600+, but it soon went down in price after a few months.

It's funny how importers would charge £600+ for import consoles at launch, taking advantage of people's rabid hunger for new tech. But it was cool to have consoles and games before Pal Land got them.

Yeah, definitely the sexiest looking computer set up ever.

The fact that it also had some of the finest arcade ports was pure porn!

A mini arcade that actually works rather well.

Tell me more about this Wasabi and Cream Cheese combo - it sounds right up my street! You're right - the Dark Chocolate KitKats are available in the UK (only ever seen them in a multi-pack) though it wouldn't surprise me if the Japanese ones are completely different. The Green Tea KitKats that were sold here briefly certainly aren't the same (still nice though).

I do like these regular Japan videos, the trip to the 7-Eleven some time back was great. When I go to Bangkok every street is filled with them (and also FamilyMart) laid out in a similar fashion. It's by far one of the main "quality of life" things I miss when I go back home - constantly having a bunch of fresh sandwiches and cool drinks within a couple of minutes walk.

The cream cheese with wasabi is perfect to go along with a nice cold beer. Lovely stuff. Not too spicy either. Just enough to give you a kick.
