Always good to laugh at the ones that have quit their jobs to appear on the show for a week or two and end up going home with less than their train fare by end of it!

I think it's pretty interesting to see how greed starts to consume some of the folk who have been on the show.

It's quite comical when those types end up on a loser.

Not watched it for an age though, it's gone a bit stale for me now - Plus I find Noel very patronising when he is talking about 20-30 grand being life changing money - yes Noel, but you're a multi-millionaire, so get fu**ed.

Didn't Edmonds throw a kid into a helicopters rotors or something? Or was that a strange nightmare I had?

Edit: No, Edmonds didn't do that. Sorry Noel. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/166159.stm

Aside from the episode that unwittingly had a huge-norked porn star in the chair, the only good thing that's ever come out of Deal Or No Deal is the following vid of Edmunds putting his smug little foot in it ...

Deal or no Deal is the creation of people who have the belief that a lot of society are mentally challenged. It's not just the fact that the concept for the show is lame and boring, but the fact that anyone would actually watch it out of choice that is so depressing.

Making a whole show around the opening of boxes is like something for toddlers. The sad thing is that it should be for small children - because there is no skill to the game; it's just utterly inane.

Noel Edmonds is all happy and jumped-up because he's a star again and making lots of money. He doesn't care if the show is a cultural abyss - and that it's helping to make the audience even more shy of brain stimulus.

I personally dislike all Game Shows. I find them boring, irritating, and would much rather watch something interesting. The sad fact is that many people the world over love Game Shows, and these days.. the dumber the concept the better its chances are.

It's just a sign of the times. Society has been dumbed down to a large degree. It is infuriating and disturbing for anyone who values intelligence and good entertainment.

I have caught the odd episode when my flat mates are watching it, can anyone explain this 'power of 5' thing Noel keeps bringing up, cause I just don't get it.

Also people that say they will play to the end and not deal all the way along, they might aswell open their box right at the start, right?

Unless the boxes arent random there is no system to winning.

At one point they actually weren't random. They were using Microsoft Excel's 'random' feature to decide which amount should go where, and the problem with this is that this feature is not actually random, it works according to an algorithm. Theoretically you could have begun to predict where the amounts were. Of course, the carefully screened emotional tinderboxes selected by the producers would probably not have twigged this anyway.

People have beaten shows with flaws like that before though - there's five parts to the video below, in which summer ice cream van driver Michael Larson completely rinses the American gameshow Press Your Luck. Watch it all, it's awesome.

Indeed, that one is legendary for one man to examine the show and exploit a weakness

Anyone remember Noel's houseparty where they'd stick a phonebooth somewhere and if you found it you'd get to play a game?

They worked out the prize money by the numbers you pressed guessing a correct phone number. It didn't take long for people to realise that discovering the number was pitifully easy so they'd hammer the 9 for about 15 seconds and get a prize about £500 more than what it should've been.

There was a couple of times the scales broke on the grab a grand bit too and they won the max amount.

Best moment (not game related) was when they did that thing where they went to some poor viewer and 'spoke' to them through their TV. They did it to one guy and he just went "not tonight noel" and stuck something in front of the hidden camera. It perhaps shows the skill of Noel's producer that they managed to fill the 10 minute gap in the program it left.
