Forget Green Hill Zone.
This bar-none, is the greatest 1st stage music track. trufax.


This always brings chills down my spine.
Many an hour spent on Ragol hunting for the legendary spread needle. Only for some guy to dupe it for me. win.

Oh where to start... I'm a collector of videogame soundtracks. I have literally hundreds of the buggers. Some of my favourites have already been linked though, but here's some more...

Crisis Core has a very underrated soundtrack in my opinion. Here's the theme for main character Zack:


It also has it's own arrangement of Aerith's theme, which is a lot more upbeat than the normal FF7 version (for reasons that are pretty clear if you've played the games...)


Hitoshi Sakimoto is rapidly becoming my favourite composer. We've already had one of his pieces from Vagrant Story up-thread, here's some more recent ones.

Game music is really picking up these days, even the big Hollywood composers are getting in on the act.

Here's some of Greg Edmonson's score for Uncharted (the bit around 1:10 always gets me):


Steve Jablonsky took over composing duties for Gears of War 2, and gave us the excellent 'Armored Prayer' (I've gone for the version with the cheesy speech as well, cause it adds even more to it)
