I'm playing the US version on a PAL box. I would assume it works the other way round but I haven't tried.

        Picked mine up today

Not got too far into the game as I'm loving Outrun 2 but it's definitely been great so far, I've only done a few quests

this may be a silly question, but how are you supposed to save your game progress?? i chose to save in the options when you press start (hero save) where it claims to save all your stats etc but its saved sod all and now i've lost over an 1:30 hours play time and i'm pi**ed off

how do you save properly in-game as there seems to be no way to do this??

          any help please

Now you're guilty of not reading the manual or help, or indeed this thread.

Hero saves only save your stats, and it's the only save you can do whilst in a quest. World saves an be done when you're not in a quest and save your progress.

I understand the hero saves, but how do you save your actual progress.

I had done upto the sword fight with whispher and saved the game, but now I have to do it all over again.

                I don't understand this part

Anytime you save during game when not in a quest = World Save
(When you load up, you will start in the area you saved)

Anytime you save during a Quest = Hero Save
(When reloaded up, you will start near the entrance to the area where once entered, will trigger the Quest. Not where you last saved it)

You can tell when you have finished a quest, by the 'Obi-Wan' booming voice saying that there are more Quests at the guild, or something similar to that effect.

i understand now - still officially the dumbest save system on the planet!

how so? being the quests really don't take that long to complete, it also stops 'Quick saving' so losing (if it ever happens) isn't as case of loading the from the corner before the nasty room you entered like every PC game ever, if u have no active 'gold quests' you can 'world save' as much as you want, i don't see it being a problem, plus you shouldn't bother trying to play a adventure 'RPG' if u gonna play 15 mins before going the pub, thats just stupid.

yeah i suppose, i'm just annoyed at losing all my play time when i first saved!

also, is it just me or does anyone else think this game has some horrible frame rate problems and slight slowdown?? maybe this is because the game constantly accesses the Xbox hard disk whilst you play?

There are definitely a few frame rate issues at times, but I didn't find it to be a huge problem due to the nature of the game. If it had of affected combat then it would definitely of been mentioned in my review.

Installing to the HD helps a lot - it reduces the load times considerably, so if you have the means I recommend that you do.

i do have the full game on my xbox hard disk - but as you play the game its always accessing it as you move in the game. i wonder why this is?

when i had ninja gaiden on my HD - it just loaded the full game into memory and ran perfectly without ever accessing (apart from FMV)

i dread to think what its like running from the DVD?
