spoiler alert but it may help to answer Concepts question

One of the earlier quests - the 2nd or 3rd you can choose, has two possible choices, one is to protect a farm whilst the other is to attack it - i am guessing that this early choice helps the game to push you towards good or evil, though you still have the oppurtunity to be evil even when doing a 'good' quest

You also get the oppurtunity early in the game to grass someone up, or to lie and cover for them - the game tells you that if you get found out lying it will affect your rep, and that word gets around quickly

Mine was sent yesterday too. I'm hoping that it'll be here on Saturday so I can put in some quality time with it over the weekend

PAL release isn't for another 3 weeks, which considiering past releases isn't too bad. But still, 3 weeks to wait for a UK developed game out in the US is a bit crap

        Chicken chaser, LOL

Yeah , outside the Hero's guild there's a man selling different names. And one of them is Chicken Chaser.

          Myself is called Assassin..

            selling names?

got mine cos the first thing i did in the game (sussing it out and all that) was to kick a chicken ... feathers everywhere, it then ran off squaking like fook, ran after it to give it another boot but it was gone before i could catch it up

thought nothing of it, did all the good deeds i could possibly do .... then after graduating from the guild i was like 'why the **** do they keep saying "he don't look like he does" bladdy bladdy' - another couple of quests and its "wahey its the chicken chaser", "go get em chicken chaser", "he chases chickens" ..... nowt like bursting the bloody bubble ...

so now every chicken i see gets the boot .... there's even a stat for furthest chicken kick o/\o

              Got mine this morning

Did the first few quest including the one you have a choice on snitching on the husband she bombed after him and screamed him out..

              Heh heh

then went on a chicken kicking spree little 10 year old devil child, farting at people and laughing like a loon!

The music so far is wonderful orchestral, melodic and just sets the tempo right

It is great fun so far......

I like the idea of being able to attain scars if you are brutially injured during a battle? and there are a number of different ?scar textures? too which adds a nice variety. And? they even age throughout time and you can gain new scars etc which overlap the old. If you want to remain a 'pretty boy' you'd better be careful fighting that beasty. ^_^

Also I kinda like the sound of how using magic (or will) alters you character?s physical form ? including going pale ? due to its immense strain on the body/mind. I mean? blasting a super lightening bolt is going to knacker anyone out. What I really like about this feature is that it adds a different layer of strategy to how you play the game. Not only ?which is the best way to kill? but also you will have to consider your characters appearance and skills. I like that.

Being able to buy shops and even entire towns if you feel so inclined sounds like a lot of fun too. I read that its even possible to do something like marrying a land lord?s daughter, which adds you to his Will, then you can kill him and then naturally become the new land lord. Its something within those lines? sounds fantastic. Definitely something I?ll be trying on my ?evil? play through no doubt.

Looking forward to this, although I've been avoiding previews like the plague. This is another game that will probably suffer from 'Molyneaux syndrome' (i.e. stuff that would probably have never made it past the rough ideas stage but were blasted over the press by Peter and his huge gob).

                      Here's what really happened:

The setting: Monthly Lionhead Meeting a few years back

Peter: So Big Blue Box guys, how's Fable coming along?

Big Blue Box Bloke: Pretty good Peter. We've got the basic game design down and we're basically tinkering with new ideas at the moment.

PM: Ooooo new ideas? I love them! Tell me!

BBBB: Well.....they're just outlines at the moment, I don't know if we'll be able to actually impleme......

PM: No come on! Out with it! There's no secrets in this company!

BBBB: Well.....Bob came up with this idea. Basically, the little kids in the world will emulate you, their hero, and change their hairstyles to suit yours and.......

                      PM: Sounds Brilliant!!!

BBBB: Yeah, sure is a cool idea but I don't know if we'll be able to actually get it worki......

PM: Wow! Just imagine! You walk into a town and some little kid has changed his hair to be just like yours! Amazing!!! People are going to soooo love this idea!

BBBB: Yeah, but Peter there are some serious technical issues we need to address to get this to work. I'm not sure if it will actually make the final game.

PM: (Staring dreamily at the ceiling) Mmmmmm.......kids......haircuts....

BBBB: Pete, remember this is just a very basic idea at the moment. It isn't definite yet.

PM: Mmmm....What?!?....Oh sure yeah. Basic. Very early. I understand. Let me know how you get on with it.....

The next day, at a Lionhead press interview:

Press Guy: So Peter, what projects are other Lionhead studios working on?

PM: OH MY GOD! You have just got to see Fable! Man you will just die with amazement! You know what I've.....I'm sorry.... what we've done??? We've only programmed the game so that little kids will ACTUALLY CHANGE THEIR HAIRSTYLE TO MATCH YOU, THEIR HERO!!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?!

                      Press Guy: Wow.

                      BBBB: Oh for frigs sake.......

                        Well spotted Brats.
All this was actually (properly) implemented 4 years ago in a game called 'Outcast'.

THE most under-rated action/adventure/RPG ever written.

The Danny Elfman score is marvellous. One of the best ever, I'd say.

Naw, I spent a good five minutes kickin' chickens around like Pimp Daddy. Tis fun. As for the game, it only continues to impress. Sadly I haven't been able to play much at all these past two days, but hopefully that'll change tomorrow. I really need to explore the depth of this title.
