Superb game *cry, sniff, sniff, cry* Loved every bit of it!

One of the best endings to a game i have seen in a long while!

    Stunning!

Russian glowcaps work a treat on Volgin. If he stands near to a glowcap you've thrown, all the bullets he tries to electrify just fall to the ground instead.

Yikes some of you are inventive. I M63ed Volgin's arse, and used the knock-out cigerettes on The Boss - each seemed like the path of least resistance, and i massacred them both. Guess my Snake wasnt trying for the style points...

Do you get different cut-scenes with Ocelot in the plane? i aimed for his head and pulled the trigger till a cutscene happened, but wondered what other options there were?

There are a few cut scenes you can get, depending on what gun you choose. You can see them all on the demo theatre menu but sadly I dont think you can view them unless you got them during the game which is a shame!!

The quick draw scene is class!!

            Zed: There are 4 options.

            1. You take the loaded (left) gun and shoot him. That's what I did.
            2. You take the empty (right) gun and he shoots you. However, it's still a blank.
            3. You take the loaded gun and miss him (okay, it's a blank so in a way you always miss, but this happens if you don't aim at him as you shoot).
            4. You take the loaded gun and don't pull the trigger.

Knock-out cigs on The Boss? Are they any good? Did you do that because the Scientist camo is the most effective in that area?

Has nobody hosted the different endings some place?

That vampire scene mentioned is not a cut scene but a mini game.

Yeah....I had scenario 2.....interested in trying a different route next time I get to that point.

Not cause of the scientist camo, but because it seemed like the devs intended a CQB fight, yet to get her AI routine to do that (and not a gun) yet circumvent actually timing punches you can cig her from just outside her range - yes it's all a bit cheap, i did do a few reversals etc on her, but it seemed like an easier method.

Just completed US version this morning, and I loved it to bits. The fight with The Boss was awesome, and I used a mix of CQC and AK47 Very cool. I used the scientist outfit, but of course you can't use weapons wearing that, so I switched to something else - I didn't even think about using the knock-out smokes

The question I had was answered, regarding the Ocelot scene at the end, I shot but missed him. Does it change the ending much? Is it worth going back for and doing again or not?

The last question is the vampire dream - if you reset your PS2, when you are back in the prison cell does a dream cutscene start up straightaway? Sounds like a cool cutscene, not sure if I want to go all the way through it again for it though :|

Not sure about the Vampire ending, but the bit with Ocelot...

the sequence you get after shooting the gun is slightly different each time but the end result is always the same. The bullet he loads is a blank so regardless of who gets it you both live and the scene ends the same way... if I remember correctly.

It truly is a masterpiece in gaming and the ending is top class. Good old CQC and the tranq gun was my choice for The Boss fight, proper schooled her ass

The dream sequence automatically comes on if you save your game in the cell, and then re-load.

It's actually a playable, entirely different game, not just a cutscene. let me know if if you want a full description of the Vampire game, I didn't want to spoil too much.

I don't know if it's really worth playing through just for this though, might be worth leaving it until Subsitence. The segment was fun, and very strange, I enjoyed the codecs afterwards more though (Signit's was the best in the game )

My "Boss" battle was composed of a really cheap combo of knife attacks (she looses health and falls over) followed by planting a landmine virtually on top of her. It certainly beat all the cat and mouse stuff she was trying to pull! Excellent game, and for me Best MGS yet. I hope that this time frame is revisited again - Young Ocelot was fantastic!

Sounds trippy! Hmm, yeah might wait for the re-release before I play through it.

Is there any technique to getting grunts to eat rotton food? I equip it and throw it, they go over and have a look at the food but never eat it? I was looking forward to making some people ill!

Same thing for scorpions, I tried throwing some near enemies and nothing happens!

                                Wow! What a fantastic game.
                                I literally just finished it.
I don't think I've been so totally satisfied with a game since VF4 Evo. It's even better than RE4 imho.

                                Roll on Subsistence!

                                Btw,

did anyone find the Solidus Snake during the fight with The Boss? I captured it but I don't think it changed anything. Anyone know different?

I just remembered - I didn't even notice there was no radar until about 6 hours in.
