Yes, I was sad enough to buy this
Graphically it looks fantastic. spidey and the enemies are incredibly well animated, and everything takes place on a pseudo3d background while you run across a 2D plane (ala Viewtiful Joe).
Gameplay wise it's not so good. Whilst the controls are incredibly fluid (zip lining and swining around the levels seems to work a lot better than its 128-bit peers, it's hampered by that typical shoody fighting that the Spiderman series is becoming famous for.
Perhaps the biggest omission is the lack of a map of any kind. Some of the levels are rather large and you'll often find yourself swingin aimlessly around (the admittedly fantastic looking locatiocs) not knowing where to go next.
As for utilising the DS capabilities, well you might as well forget it. Apart from being able to choose what special move you want mapped to the R-button, it serves no purpose at all (why oh why was a map not used here?)
We always knew that this wasn't going to be a killer app, but IMO it actually showcases the DS's graphical capabilities a lot more effectively than the other titles currently on offer. I picked it up for ?20 and if you curious, or enjoyed the GBA versions, then you will be able to garner some enjoyment from it. Otherwise, you'll most likely want to give it a rather wide berth.
