ditto - am loving this. there's much more to it than the last version of bejeweled i played on my pda (although i'm sure there's a newer version...) - the focus on individual animal types for levelling-up quotas & lucky animals makes a *big* difference...

those who can't see the point of the touchscreen obviously don't play puzzle games; the ds was made for this kind of action. all nintendo have to do is release a touchscreen variation on panel-de-pon - instant killer app, at least for me anyway

heh zoo keeper has her so addicted i have had to buy another DS for me (approved from the mrs)

i swear to god if every console launch came with a killer puzzle game i would be allowed to get ALL the consoles.....

just thought i'd mention something i discovered that might help anyone struggling to

place a high score on each table to unlock the super-hard difficulty.

difficulty settings seem to affect the amount of time you get per level & the score per set of animals. so if you're playing for high scores dial it up as high as you can!

been playing this for 24 hours, any tips on getting big scores ? (before being able to unlock super hard), best so far on Time Attack (on hard) is about 410,000, struggling to even get on any of the leaderboards tbh, one last thing, on Tokoton mode, do you have to get 100 of the rabbits (think I'm right in saying they only appear once you have 100 of another/all animals ?)

I'm surprised by that Time Attack score - I've been getting in the 500,000s all along, I think. The fact that my wife's filled the scoreboard so I need about 650,000 just to place 10th means I'm not sure...

Chaining is the trick - basically, unless you're feeling clever enough to set things up well, just try and take stuff from low down first. The most vital thing is that you can carry on playing moves while the rest of the board collapses, so don't just sit there admiring your handiwork. If something is already going to chain, the game doesn't seem to want to let you ruin it anyway.

But I've only had about 4 goes; I'm not allowed near the machine most of the time...

edit - oh, and the other thing is to keep an eye on your 'lucky' animal. Double points for clearing those up.

Same here with the high score table, my lady has filled it too, (you need 1,100,000+ to get on it now).

I just try to go as fast as I can, not really paying attention to chains or lucky doobers.

ta, completed Quest mode last night but only got 600 points will need to start moving those blocks faster.

Quest Mode is mostly luck. I managed to top the scoreboard with 13k after about 10 goes but I think I was very lucky.

I am having much more trouble with the Tokoton and basic modes - I cant get near the top of those.

there is a lot of luck involved, spent 20+ mins on one Tokoton game last night before "dying" with only 67 rabbits collected.

In Tokoton mode you simply get a bonus and the screen cleared everytime you reach 100 with any animal (that animal then resets to 0).

There is no need to get 100 rabbits over any of the other animals, and as you say rabbits are only sometimes there.

ahh I see, because rabbits weren't there at the start I thought they appeared (and you had to collect 100 of them) when you got past 100 of the other animals, how wrong I was, just assumed it was a game that ended when you collected 100 rabbits, not that it was on going, can't even blame this on translation as playing PAL version

crank up the difficulty - scoring mulitpliers are in effect at higher levels. you'll find it much easier to get on the tables for every mode other than quest doing that...
